Carers Trust Mid Yorkshire are a social care charity providing respite support to unpaid carers. We are currently looking for a Senior Care Specialist to work within the organisation to support our clients while their regular Care Support Worker is on leave.
As a Senior Care Specialist, you will be slotting into the Carers shoes while they take a break. Work could include the provision of personal care, social care, and emotional support. Respecting confidentiality in line with data protection regulation and honouring equality, diversity and inclusion needs.
The role will work to cover clients while colleagues take leave. During this time their clients still need the regular, uninterrupted support service, so that they can take that all-important break each week. The essence of this programme is to provide a regular Senior Care Specialist who clients will come to know.
This role will be working 37 hours per week (overtime will be available) focussed predominantly in the Kirklees district, some occasional out of district travel may be required based on the needs of the organisation. Flexibility is key, along with the ability to work some unsociable hours including evenings and alternate weekends. Applicants must:
- Have a minimum of one-year social care experience
- Be a driver with their own vehicle for work purposes
- Experience working with vulnerable adults and / or children
- Have the ability to work flexibly for the needs of the organisation including travel throughout the area covered by the organisation
- Be able to develop good working relationships with carers and people with care needs while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Be able to work independently and take initiative while working within Carers Trust Mid Yorkshire policies, procedures and guidance.

Job Description
We are looking to recruit a professional, responsive HR Business Partner to join us at an exciting and pivotal stage in our development. Building on good foundations, you will provide sound, accurate and consistent HR advice, delivering quality people management aligned to our ethos, values and business ambitions. The HR Business Partner will work with the CEO and senior team to achieve strategic objectives in accordance with the requirements of the Trustees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
The HR Business Partner will be instrumental in supporting people strategy initiatives and providing first-line HR guidance across the organisation, whilst ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies, updating procedures as necessary.
- Work with the CEO to build a sound people strategy, interpreting policies effectively and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to create a competent, flexible and safe workforce to meet the needs of the business.
- Acting as the first point of contact, provide policy-driven guidance, advising and providing proactive support to enable the business to meet its operational
- Lead on and support recruitment, resource planning and talent management, including appropriate succession planning, learning and development.
- Provide expert guidance in all HR matters, ensuring an effective level of people management practice.
- Champion employee engagement, equality, diversity and inclusion and wellbeing initiatives.
- Manage the organisation’s training programme to ensure compliance with CQC requirements.
- Enhance and embed HR policies and processes to manage employee performance, providing expert HR advice and guidance on managing performance, recognising high performance and supporting areas of underperformance.
- Drive compliance with people strategy and ensure effective management and resolution of disciplinary and grievance practices, embedding learning outcomes into practice.
- Interpret, articulate and deliver workforce requirements for the short, medium and longer term needs of the organization, providing insights and feedback to influence the wider people strategy.
- Deliver people-centred change management initiatives.
- Implement and manage policy driven absence management.
HR Administration
- Maintain up-to-date employee records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
- Prepare and process HR-related documentation such as employment contracts, offer letters, and contract variation documentation.
- Support the Payroll manager in providing accurate information for processing monthly pay.
Policy compliance
- Ensure all HR activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
- Monitor and report on HR key performance indicators such as employee turnover, absenteeism, and compliance.
- Update and communicate HR policies to employees.
Personal Specification
- CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above preferred).
- Experience of HR business partnering or progressive general HR experience, preferably within the Health and Social Care sector.

Fundraising Volunteer
Area: West Yorkshire
Job Description
Carers Trust Mid Yorkshire are a charity providing respite support to unpaid Carers; providing a regular break each week by stepping in to take care of their loved one for a few hours enabling the Carer to have some rest and relaxation of their choice. The organisation supports the communities of Kirklees, Wakefield, Leeds and Calderdale and is a charity of significant size with around 120 employees.
The organisation completes community fundraising activity on a regular basis and is looking for individuals who wish to help out for a few hours a week to help prepare and contribute to fundraising activity in a variety of settings.
Duties
- Working with the fundraising team to assist in the execution of fundraising activities including event preparation and delivery
- Assist in organising and promoting fundraising events, such as galas, car boot sales and more
- Represent Carers Trust Mid Yorkshire with professionalism and enthusiasm at community events promoting the activity of the organisation and the benefits of its fundraising activity
Skills
- Organisational skills and attention to detail
- Previous fundraising experience is helpful but not required
- Flexibility to adapt to changing fundraising strategies and priorities
