Centre Assistant (Fixed Term)

Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean and organised environment and restocking shelves. You will work closely with our dedicated volunteers, who are passionate about supporting the Trust’s mission. All revenue generated from our visitor centres directly funds vital conservation work across our reserves in Essex.
Working as part of a visitor centre team, the post holder will need to be a team player who can engage in a welcoming and professional way with our visitors - ensuring excellent customer service is always at the forefront.
We are looking for a friendly individual with an interest in customer service to join Essex Wildlife Trust in this visitor engagement role.
The position is a fixed term role until 29 March 2026, working 22.5 hours per week between Monday and Sunday on a rota basis to include weekend and bank holiday working. The starting salary is £14,285.70 per annum (FTE £23,809.50).

Senior Ecologist

As part of Essex Ecology, the ecological consultancy of Essex Wildlife Trust, the Senior Ecologist will play a vital role in supporting biodiversity monitoring, ecological assessments, and nature recovery delivery across Essex. You will contribute to our consultancy’s commercial success by delivering high-quality ecological services, while supporting our parent charity’s conservation objectives.
In addition to fieldwork and advisory responsibilities, this role requires excellent management of client relationships, report delivery and administrative follow-up, with the support of a dedicated administrator. The post-holder will be expected to manage their workflow with efficiency, respond promptly to customer queries, and uphold high standards in all written outputs and project documentation.
This role would suit someone with 7+ years of ecological experience (consultancy or conservation), with proven ability to manage clients. This role requires a full driving license and access to a vehicle.
This role is a permanent position. The hours of work are 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm) with a starting salary of £36,000 per annum. The base of work is Abbotts Hall, Great Wigborough. Essex Wildlife Trust offers flexible homeworking arrangements. Further details of the hybrid-working arrangements will be shared at interview.

Marketing Officer (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for a Marketing Officer who is proactive, data driven and creative. We want you to feel confident to try new marketing ideas and expand our reach to different audiences. This is a role for someone who wants to flex their knowledge, learn new strategies and have a big impact.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a creative and impact-driven team. You will work collaboratively across the Trust, covering fundraising, conservation, campaigns, events, Nature Discovery Centres and more.
The postholder will have experience in a similar role and be confident sharing new ideas and keep on top of industry trends. This role will involve digital and offline marketing activities, and the postholder must be able to show evidence within these areas, alongside previous experience in brand management.

This role is a fixed term position for 1 year, working 30 hours per week (4 Days Per Week), with a salary of £20,879.04 (FTE £26,098.80).
This role has a hybrid-working arrangement, where the role is flexibly based at Abbotts Hall in Great Wigborough, but with the option to work from Nature Discovery Centres across Essex and from home.
The role will require a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
