Job Description
Responsible to: Lower School and Upper School Heads of School
Purpose of the job and Main duties:
To teach a wide range of sports, games, activities and gymnastics to children from classes 3 to 12 (age 8 to 18) using the Steiner Waldorf movement curriculum.
• Planning lessons that are age and ability appropriate.
• Maintaining clear records and tracking, in accordance with statutory and school requirements.
• Maintaining good discipline.
• Liaising with colleagues and parents.
• Coaching lower and upper school sports teams,
• Organising Matches against other schools and umpiring matches.
• Take on various jobs in the running of the Gym and Games department.
• Maintenance of equipment, administrative tasks, planning and organisation in conjunction with the other members of the department.
• Taking responsibility for the health and safety of the classes in your care.
• Risk assessing activities and administering first aid where necessary.
• Setting up the teaching space including any equipment used.
• Ensuring Equipment is safe to use and in good working order.
• In gymnastics the appropriate stand-ins must be known and used safely.
• Writing reports.
Further duties and expectations
• Attend faculty meetings and any other meetings that are required.
• Participate in providing cover for break times and cover for absent colleagues.
• Supervising lunch and break activities in the Gym.
• Any other duties reasonably requested by the school.
• Familiarise yourself with and adhere to the school’s policies and procedures and to support their implementation including the Equal Opportunities, Child Protection and Health and Safety policies.
• Undertake appropriate preparation, study and training as necessary both for the effective delivery of the curriculum and to advance the school’s ethos, principles and objectives; to engage in the constant reflection and personal development of yourself; and to commit to deepening your understanding of Anthroposophy, Bothmer Gymnastics and Steiner Education.

Essential
Qualifications At least one of the following:
• Hold a teaching qualification
• Have a degree in Physical Education or similar
Desirable (but not essential)
Have a First Aid at Work Certificate
Have completed a Bothmer Gym Training
Experience
Have relevant teaching experience in Gym and Games
Skills
Be a good classroom practitioner with evidence of setting appropriate expectations to advance learning and engage and motivate students
Personal Qualities
Be self-motivated and imaginative.
Have a flexible and positive attitude to work
Be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and parents
Be able to demonstrate commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in your care

The details of this role are as follows:
Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours – over 5 days, on a rolling shift pattern, Monday-Sunday of either early, mid or late shift. Every fourth week you will have days off between Monday and Friday as you will have to work Saturday and Sunday (shift timings as required)

Early 7am-3pm, Mid 9am-5pm, Late 2.30pm-10.30pm

Site Team Operative
GENERAL GENERAL
• To ensure that the school buildings and estate grounds are safe, secure and cared for
• That all buildings remain compliant to H&S legislation
• That all buildings & F&F within are in good working order and ready for educational or letting use
• To work alongside other estate team operatives & external contractors to make sure the site as a whole is safe, secure, clean and heated well for pupils, parents, staff and visitors & to ensure the educational demands of the school & the estate are met within its current setting.
• To work with the school on all estate improvement projects as and when required
Reporting to: Team Supervisor & Estate Manager
GENERAL
• Compliance & compliance recording - Daily safeguarding, Legionella, fire equipment, Playground equipment, Cleaning, Health & Safety
• Support school festivals (Midsummer, Advent Fair, Saturday Markets, Open Days, Theatre Performances, Olympics, etc)
• Support for Lettings - mostly furniture moving & cleaning, preparing Mansion for events, but also direct event support & emergency response.
• Site cleaning: bins, sweeping, benches, drains, window cleaning, fleet vehicles, classrooms, gym, theatre etc.
• Heavy lifting of equipment in and out of storage to work/teaching spaces, interior & exterior decorating, blackboard painting
• Support for Site Development projects
• Small repair work on school properties
• Working with outside contractors at request of Estate Manager
GROUNDS – Supporting the Groundskeeper
• Grass mowing, strimming, blowing, spiking, harrowing, rolling, weeding, gutter cleaning general duties within the School as directed
• Hedge cutting around the school, including some school residential properties.
• Clearing leaves
• Clearing, reclaiming and maintaining the boundary fences.
• Tree maintenance in the grounds (pruning, minor tree surgery).
• Pest control (squirrels, rabbits, deer, wasps, etc)
