Sports Assistant (FTC)
If you are a confident communicator, have a good understanding of rugby, hockey and cricket and have a proactive approach in life, we want to hear from you.
RGS Guildford is recruiting a Sports Assistant on a six month contract from January 2026. This is a great opportunity to gain some valuable experience working in a successful Sports department with access to some impressive facilities.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Sport, the Sports Assistant will:
- Coach and organise school and house teams independently;
- Co-ordinate the ordering of sporting equipment and maintain its upkeep;
- Contribute to the following duties: transport, lunch, library, weights room and catering duties during the week or on Saturdays.
Saturday commitments (average of 5 hours depending on the sport) include:
- Coaching;
- Refereeing;
- Organising and serving sports teas;
- Videoing and analysing match day videos.
The successful candidate will feel confident officiating inter-school matches (with training and guidance), will demonstrate a positive work ethic and show empathy to the students they coach. They will be provided with appropriate training and an induction to allow them to perform at their best. School staff sports kit will also be provided. The ability to drive would be beneficial.
This will be a fixed term contract until July 2026 with flexible working hours of up to 30 hours per week paying £12.50/hour plus holiday pay. Employment will not include school holidays.

School Secretary & Clubs Coordinator

We are looking for a School Secretary & Clubs Coordinator to join the busy front office at RGS Prep. This is a full time position working term time plus three weeks.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure that the school register is complete morning and afternoon.
- Answer telephone calls, pass on messages, find and provide answers to questions.
- Manage the office email inbox.
- Provide secretarial support to teaching staff as required.
- Provide first aid when the first aid lead is not available.
- Manage the school’s co-curricular clubs’ system and liaise with club providers.

Teacher of Computer Science
We are looking for an experienced Teacher of Computer Science to teach our high achieving students at GCSE and A-level on a full time or part time basis.
You will have an in-depth knowledge of Computer Science and be enthusiastic to share this in a classroom setting with students from the first form (Year 7) through to Upper Sixth. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable teaching a second subject to GCSE or above.
There are currently 120 students studying Computer Science across GCSE and A-level. Students perform well in public exams with around 85% achieving Grade 8 – 9 at GCSE, and 75% achieving A*/A at A-level.
You would be joining a friendly, motivated team who take pride in their pupils’ achievements both in and outside of the classroom at events such as the Bebras Computational Thinking competition, the British Algorithmic Olympiad and the Perse Coding Challenge.

Exam Invigilator
We are looking for reliable, confident individuals to offer a reassuring presence to our pupils as they sit both internal and national exams.
No experience is necessary as full training will be given but you must be able to commit to a minimum of four mornings and/or afternoons a week during the exam period. Typical sessions run 8.30am to 1.00pm and 12.45pm to 5.00pm; further availability and flexibility is welcomed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Upholding the integrity and security of the examination process;
- Supervising and observing candidates at all times;
- Completing attendance registers;
- Securely returning all exam scripts and materials to the exams officer.

Assistant Site Manager - 2 year FTC
The Assistant Site Manager will work with the Senior Site Manager and wider Estates Team to provide strategic and hands on management of the Royal Grammar School, Guildford in terms of compliance, lettings, events, and the effective day to day operation of this town centre site. This will include routine, scheduled, preventative and reactive maintenance of buildings, equipment and premises.
This position is initially offered on a two year fixed term contract to cover a period of staff secondment.
The successful candidate will hold a full UK driving license and be willing to undertake D1 training (funded by the School) in order to drive and manage the school fleet. They will have demonstrable experience of managing buildings, grounds and sports facilities. The key to success in this role lies in a 'can-do' attitude and mentality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that the buildings and fixtures and fittings are serviceable at all times, rectifying and reporting faults as necessary.
- To line manage and develop the General Assistants through identifying training and developmental requirements.
- Managing the helpdesk system as first point of contact.
- Receipt of supplies and management of the ‘Goods In’ Function.
- Carry out and record appropriate risk assessments.
- To provide cover across other sites if required.
Hours of work:
Monday to Sunday (45 hours per week) on a shift pattern with a 60 minute break for lunch and two 15 minute breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, each day: 07.00 to 16.00; 08.00 to 17.00; 10.00 to 19.00.

Teacher of Mathematics and Further Mathematics
Mathematics is an extremely popular subject at the RGS with 80% of those in the Sixth Form taking one or two Mathematics A-levels.
As a Teacher of Mathematics at the RGS, you will be confident teaching our high achieving students at GCSE and A-level. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and those new to the profession and are happy to consider full time or part time hours.

Teacher Training - Teacher of DT
Curious about teaching?Have a passion for DT?Want to make a difference to young people's lives?
We are inviting applications for a Trainee Teacher of DT. You will have, or be working towards, a Bachelor's degree (2:2 or above).
Please note that this is a study
opportunity, not a paid teaching post, and you must have the right to study in the UK. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this opportunity.
The successful candidate will become a student with Ofsted Outstanding training provider South Farnham SCITT and spend the majority of the 2026/27 academic year learning and working alongside colleagues in the RGS DT department.
As a School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) student, you will:

Achieve Qualified Teacher Status in one academic year

Attend weekly professional study sessions with South Farnham SCITT

Have the option to achieve PGCE alongside QTS
