We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Duty Manager to play a key role in the day-to-day operations of Leisure at Cheltenham, the Prince of Wales Stadium, and the Cricket Hall.
This is a hands-on role ensuring the safe, smooth, and efficient running of our facilities. From managing staff rotas and training lifeguards, to overseeing pool safety, plant operations, and major events, you’ll be at the heart of making sure every visitor has a safe and high-quality experience.
The role also includes customer service, health and safety compliance, income generation activities, and close collaboration with colleagues across the Trust. You’ll help us maintain high standards and deliver excellent service for the community.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a salary of £28,072 per annum.

As a Chef de Partie, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality cuisine across our diverse portfolio of venues. From elegant fine dining at Pittville Pump Room to large-scale banquets at Cheltenham Town Hall and fresh, seasonal food in our cafés, this is a role that offers real variety in some of the town’s most historic and atmospheric settings.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and present high-quality dishes across a range of service styles, including fine dining, banqueting, and café menus

Work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Contribute to menu planning and the development of new, creative dishes

Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness

Support the delivery of catering for some of Cheltenham’s most prestigious public and private events
About You

Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role is highly desirable

A full, clean UK driving licence is essential

Are you passionate about teaching others to swim and building water confidence in people of all ages?
Leisure at Cheltenham is looking to expand its team of swim instructors to meet growing demand for our swim classes and pool facilities. We’re looking for enthusiastic and qualified instructors to help deliver our successful Learn to Swim programme.
Whether you’re looking for regular part-time hours or more casual sessions, we have weekday and weekend shifts available:

Weekday evenings from 4.00pm to 6.00pm

Weekend mornings from 8.00am to 10.30am
As a swim instructor, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality swimming lessons in line with Swim England guidelines. You’ll play an important role in encouraging children and adults to learn new skills, improve their fitness, and gain confidence in the water.
You’ll also be responsible for the supervision and safety of your group throughout each session.
What You’ll Need

Swim England Level 2 (or higher) teaching qualification (essential)

A recognised pool rescue qualification such as NPLQ or NRASTC (desirable)

A strong understanding of safety and safeguarding best practice

A positive, engaging approach to teaching and motivating participants

Our Organisation
Leisure at Cheltenham boasts excellent swim, gym, indoor and outdoor sports facilities including a main pool, teaching pool, diving pool, and Splash Pad that aim to cater for all ages and abilities.

The Role – Lifeguard
As part of a team of Lifeguards, your main objective will be to support the safe running of our leisure facilities working both inside and out of the pools, welcoming customers and ensuring their safety. Your duties will include:
- Supervising the swimming pool and ensuring safety measures are met
- Checking the safety of equipment and reporting any damage
- Ensuring a consistently high level of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained
- Assisting with the supervision of children’s activities including parties, play schemes, and courses
- Providing first aid to customers and staff where required

- Working a range of shifts up to 8 hours long (for a maximum of 5 days out of 7 per week for full time contracts). Our rota covers 5:30am and 10:30pm Monday to Friday, and 8am and 8pm Saturday and Sunday
If you are employed on a permanent contract working full time hours, you will work a 4-week shift pattern rota, including early and late shifts, with one weekend on / one weekend off.
Our Requirements – Lifeguard
- NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard) qualification
- Confident swimmer
- Keen interest in sport, with enthusiasm for keeping fit
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Willingness to undertake Lifeguard appropriate training, including First Aid training
Although not essential, experience gained in a leisure environment in a similar role would be highly advantageous, as would a First Aid qualification.

Accounts Payable and Payroll Administrator

The Role
We are seeking a proactive Accounts Payable & Payroll Administrator to join our finance team. This role is pivotal to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, including supplier invoice management and payroll processing. You will join a small team and provide essential support across various finance functions.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Process supplier invoices promptly and accurately, ensuring compliance with company policies and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare regular payment runs, ensuring timely payments to suppliers.
- Track outgoing payments and maintain accurate records, ensuring correct VAT treatment on all invoices.
- Manage supplier setup and administration.
Customer & Supplier Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Perform regular/monthly statement reconciliations for both suppliers and customers to ensure account accuracy.
- Manage the Accounts Payable and Payroll inboxes, responding to emails promptly and resolving queries efficiently.
Payroll Administration
- Act as the primary contact for all payroll-related queries within the Trust
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure all payroll data is accurately captured, including any payroll changes, new starters, leavers, salary adjustments and monthly timesheets.
- Prepare monthly pension returns to Royal London and LGPS, managing any arising queries.
- Ensure accurate reporting to HMRC of PAYE figures.
- Reconcile ledger control accounts related to payroll items.
General Financial Support
- Provide cover for the Accounts Receivable Administrator when required:
- Generate and issue customer invoices promptly and accurately.
- Record and reconcile all incoming financial transaction.
- Issue receipts to customers and manage outstanding payments, including sending collection statements and communications.
- Provide general financial and administrative support to the Finance team as needed.
- Monitor the department’s mailbox, ensuring timely responses or appropriate delegation.
- Assist in producing accurate and comprehensive management information.
- Maintain adequate audit trails and uphold internal accounting controls.
- Support internal colleagues on ad-hoc matters as directed by the Finance Director.
- Collaborate effectively across the Trust, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all matters.
About You
Experience
- Minimum of one year of experience in Accounts Payable.
- At least two years of accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping fundamentals.
- Previous payroll experience is desirable; however, training can be provided.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently to investigate and resolve queries.
- Flexible team player, responsive to business growth and changing priorities.

We are looking for Swim Instructors to join our team and help us deliver safe, professional swimming lessons to children and adults of all ages and abilities.
We have a variety of classes throughout the day and working hours available from evening sessions, to weekends only and middle of the day sessions.
Your duties will include:
- Welcoming all participants, promoting a positive image of our facilities
- Planning and delivering structured lessons, classes, and sessions
- Overseeing the work of Assistant Instructors
- Ensuring the health and safety of all participants
- Monitoring the progress of Swim School students
Our Requirements – Swimming Instructor
- Level 1 or 2 Swim England qualification for Teaching, or STA Qualification for Teaching Swimming
- Be a confident swimmer and teacher.
- Keen interest in sport, with enthusiasm for keeping fit
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Willingness to undertake appropriate training.
