Ready to use your expertise to guide a team in their work to build brighter futures?
This is more than a clinical role, it`s a chance to lead, mentor and shape the future of early intervention support for children and young people.
As a Supervising Practitioner, you`ll be part of our vibrant West/North Birmingham (Handsworth, Lozells, Aston, Ladywood, Erdington) Mental Health Support Team (MHST) working in schools to deliver evidence-based interventions, promote whole school approaches to mental wellbeing, and ensure that EMHPs and trainees feel supported, skilled and safe in their practice.
You`ll hold a small caseload and work directly with young people with mild to moderate needs, while also offering clinical supervision, reflective spaces and day-to-day guidance to your team. You`ll be a go-to clinical lead, helping embed good practice, spot risks early and build the kind of culture where practitioners can thrive.
You`ll work hand-in-hand with schools, Team Leaders and the wider Compass team to drive quality, consistency and innovation. Whether you`re shaping group interventions, training staff or liaising with senior mental health leads, your influence will be felt far beyond your own caseload.
If you want an exciting and rewarding role where you can grow others, lead with care and create wide reaching impact, this is where your next step should be.
Are you ready to take the next step in your mental health career and become a future leader in children and young people`s services? If you`re passionate about empowering young people to thrive and want to grow your practice in a truly supportive environment, this is your opportunity to shine.
As a Trainee Supervising Practitioner, you will be part of our West/North Birmingham (Handsworth, Lozells, Aston, Ladywood, Erdington) Mental Health Support Team (MHST), an innovative programme transforming how young people access early mental health support. Our MHSTs focus on prevention, early intervention and removing barriers that delay help and frustrate families.
In this role, you will work closely with a wide range of professionals to ensure children and young people get the right support at the right time. You will develop your skills in CBT-informed supervision, supported by experienced clinicians and a dynamic, values-driven team committed to creativity, inclusion and continuous learning.
We don`t believe in one-size-fits-all services. Our support is shaped by local voices, blending evidence-based practice with innovation and real-world need.
You will begin on a Band E salary, moving to Band F once your training course starts.
This is more than a training role. It is a chance to lead, grow and make a real difference. If that sounds like your next move, we would love to hear from you.
Ready to lead, inspire, and make a lasting difference in young people’s mental health?
As a Supervising Practitioner, you’ll play a pivotal role in improving the emotional wellbeing of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs within our growing Compass Bloom Service. Working across education settings, you’ll deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, support the implementation of Whole School Approaches, and build the confidence of school staff through consultation, training and strategic collaboration.
At the same time, you’ll provide clinical supervision and guidance to Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) and trainees, helping to nurture their development while ensuring safe, effective practice. You’ll be central to our efforts to raise standards, strengthen clinical governance, and create an environment where reflective practice thrives.
With your expertise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and your passion for system-wide impact, you’ll work closely with a skilled, values-led team committed to early intervention and collaborative care.
If you’re excited by the opportunity to shape services, support practitioners, and empower young people to thrive - this is where your leadership belongs. Join our amazing team!
