Recreational Assistant
Salary- £15.02 per hour
The role
Bacon’s Community Sports Centre is the home of grassroots sports in South London, as a Recreational Assistant you play a central part in delivering a fantastic experience for both our loyal, regular customers, and those who are visiting us for the first time.
You don’t have to necessarily be sporty for this role, but an interest in sport is an advantage, but more importantly you need to enjoy working with people and seeking a role that is both varied and active.
The purpose of this role is to look after our customers from start to finish, and everything in between, including welcoming visitors, managing bookings or supporting with administrative and office tasks, to getting the sports centre ready for visitors, setting up for events, and setting down/closing afterwards.
Basic IT skills and good communication skills are a must along with a commitment to safe working practices.

Swindon Academy is looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Evening Receptionist. In this exciting role, the successful candidate will provide an outstanding front of house and customer service to all stakeholders of the Academy whilst ensuring the safety of all staff and students.
This is an interesting and wide-ranging role, which will be suited to an adaptable and detail-oriented individual. Candidates must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be flexible to change and be able to manage a diverse, but interesting and enjoyable workload. The successful candidates will be people-focused, have a positive outlook and be able to build strong relationships.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be educated to a good standard and have a minimum of good GCSE level
- Have relevant administrative and customer facing experience
- Have experience of using data/ information systems, spreadsheets and word processing
- Have experience of day to day use of Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel)
- Have experience of working with young people (age 11 to 16) or within schools, working with students and parents
- Have experience of working successfully as part of a team which plans workload and has to respond to situations which arise
- Have ability to use initiative and problem solve
- Ability to relate well to both children and adults; able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, their families, colleagues and other professionals
- Demonstrate tact and sensitivity where appropriate
- Have excellent customer service skills; ability to relate well to parents and prospective pupils
