ABOUT THE ROLE
The work of our Child Contact Centre is part of YMCA Cheltenham, our service based in West Cheltenham.
The Child Contact Centre Assistant will be working for YMCA Cheltenham Contact Services, to supervise the contact between a child and a parent they don’t live with. The role will include preparing high standard contact observation reports, which provide a detailed, true and accurate reflection of these sessions.

We are looking to recruit to 2 roles – a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week, and a temporary role, initially for 3 months, with the possibility of extension (between 30 and 37.5 hours a week).
Salary is between £25,501 and £31,100 per annum (based on working 37.5 hours), dependent on relevant skills, experience and qualifications.
We are inviting applications for the role of Maintenance Technician, working across our sites in Cheltenham and Gloucester.
To be successful in this role, you will have at least 2 years’ experience in a maintenance role and an ability to carry out a variety of tasks, from decorating, to changing taps, to some landscaping. No two days are ever the same. Ideally, you will also have plumbing and carpentry skills and knowledge, and experience of completing void property works.
You will have the ability to maintain good working relationships, across a range of staff levels, both internally and externally and be an excellent and engaged team member, who has a can-do attitude and a ‘hands on’ approach.
You will have a Level 3 in a relevant qualification or a desire to achieve this.
As this role is working across several sites, a full driving licence is essential.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Maintenance Technician is part of a busy team, often working to a number of different tight deadlines. It is an opportunity for a highly motivated person to support the Property and Maintenance team to ensure the Charity’s buildings, physical spaces, equipment, vehicles and other property owned or managed by the organisation are maintained to a high quality.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the HR Administrator, you will provide administrative support to the HR team and the wider organisation. You will play a key role at our busy head office in Cheltenham, often being the first point of contact for HR, general queries and administrative tasks. No two days will be the same in this role, so you will be adaptable, willing to work with other HR team members and able to use your initiative but also work as an effective team member.
The HR team cover a range of duties from recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, HR lifecycle, training and compliance, such as DBS.
You will support the HR team in providing a professional HR service to the organisation in all matters relating to employees and employer/employee relations.
The HR team are a hardworking team, who have to juggle a number of different priorities each day. You will also be helping the Central administration team, by answering the door and may help with setting up rooms for interviews. We are looking to recruit a Preschool Practitioner, based at Cherry Blossom Preschool, St Barnabas Church, Cheltenham, with a sense of social purpose to help improve the lives of others and make a lasting difference in the lives of children throughout the County of Gloucestershire.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Preschool Practitioner will be based at St Barnabas Church, working in the Preschool Team for YMCA Cheltenham. They will be in charge of a number of children and will help ensure that the children have an educational and interesting visit each and every day.

We are inviting applications for the role of HR Advisor, based in our HR team based in Cheltenham.
To be successful in this role, you will have previous HR advisor experience, or HR coordinator experience and looking for your next step in your HR career.
You will have experience of working in a number of areas in HR, such as sickness management, employee relations, recruitment, performance management and the HR lifecycle.
You will be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively build good working relationships with a range of staff and stakeholders.
It is a small but growing HR team, so the ability to work in a team, share good practice, and coach and guide other HR team members is essential.
The HR team are a hard-working team, who have to juggle a number of different priorities each day. The ability to be able to manage a large workload, but ensure at all times, that you maintain excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Alongside you have the ability to work with tact and diplomacy and react sensitively and with emotional intelligence when dealing with complex, sensitive or confidential scenarios.
You will act in a professional and discretionary manner at all times and able to work in a highly confidential way with the ability to apply judgement, common sense, problem solve and find practical solutions to difficult challenges.
You will demonstrate evidence of an excellent standard of literacy, numeracy and English language skills.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a newly created role in the HR team to provide HR support to the Head of HR, enabling an excellent and strategic HR service to be delivered across the organisation.
By supporting the Head of HR on processes, principles, and ways of working within the organisation, that establish good employer/employee relations, and good quality arrangements that benefit the staff and organisation, this role will help to ensure that YMCA Cheltenham becomes an employer of choice.
As part of a small busy HR team this role will provide day to day Human Resources support to the organisation.
You will be working on a range of tasks- such as sickness management, employee relations, recruitment, performance management and the life cycle of HR. You will be working alongside your HR colleagues and stakeholders to ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard.
There may be occasional need to work different hours (such as working in the evening or earlier in the morning to meet night team staff, who work different shift patterns).
You will be expected to exercise initiative but alongside that you will be an excellent team player and able to build effective long standing relationships.
You must also be highly competent in office technologies, including Microsoft 365, cloud-based systems and ability to be able to pick-up in-house HR systems easily.
