The department also plays a key role in identifying needs early and implementing appropriate interventions, while maintaining regular communication with families and staff to monitor progress. The Learning Skills department will consist of the Head of Learning Skills, a part-time Assistant Teacher of Learning Skills and Access Arrangements Coordinator.

Opportunity
Hereford Cathedral Junior School seeks to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the Junior School and Nursery. Working closely with class teachers and the Nursery Leader, the successful candidate will contribute to classroom activities, small group work and individual support, ensuring that all children are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
The role will involve assisting with the preparation of materials, helping to deliver programmes of work, and supporting children with their social, emotional and behavioural development. Flexibility is essential, as the post holder may be called upon to work across a range of age groups in both academic and pastoral contexts.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with a genuine commitment to supporting children’s learning. A good knowledge of child development and early years pedagogy is desirable, as is experience of working with children with SEN.
This is a term-time role, and the post holder will be expected to contribute positively to the life of the school, working as part of a friendly, committed team and supporting the School’s ethos and values.
