JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Fundraising Assistant Location: Lingen Davies Cancer Fund office at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital but will need to work at our other sites within Shropshire, Telford and Mid Wales on occasion. Hours: 22.5 hours per week; this can be worked in a flexible pattern as agreed, within office hours and across at least three working days. Main Purpose of the Role To provide key administrative support to the Fundraising Team. Provide a key point of contact for our supporters in the office, and assist with managing online fundraising platforms, and communications via email, phone and letter. To ensure fundraising materials are in stock and available for use as required. To work closely with the Operations Team, ensuring that they have the information they need to process donations accurately, and that our valued supporters are thanked in a timely manner. To work with colleagues to ensure all Reception desks are staffed as required. Key Tasks • Respond promptly and effectively to enquiries and requests received from supporters, fundraisers and prospects. Communicate confidently via phone, in writing and using online methods. • Oversee the Fundraising team email inbox, responding or passing to relevant colleagues as required. • Assist with managing online fundraising platforms (e.g. Just Giving), reporting as required. • Keep in regular contact with third-party fundraisers. Work with colleagues to ensure an excellent supporter journey for all supporters and ensure they are well supported to achieve their fundraising goal. • Ensure timely and appropriate acknowledgments, using both standard and bespoke correspondence. • Cash handling and preparing donations for banking, as needed. • Assist the Finance team in the reconciliation of income received, responding to any queries. • Assist with the ongoing stewardship of Regular Givers - monitoring monthly attrition rates and responding to cancellations. Lingen Davies Cancer Support | December 2025 • Help to organise and prepare for the fundraising and awareness-raising events being organised within the Lingen Davies staff team • Work with the wider team to identify volunteer opportunities, ensuring they are appropriate, meaningful and mutually beneficial. • Liaise with colleagues to ensure appropriate social media and media coverage of fundraising activities • Make full use of our internal Customer Relationship Management system (Beacon) to accurately plan and log all activity. • Work with the Operations Team to ensure appropriate stocks of fundraising consumables e.g. collection buckets, running vests etc. • Maintain an awareness of best practice standards in fundraising and ensure your work complies with these • Support the general activities of the fundraising team and wider charity, working collaboratively and proactively identifying opportunities for income growth across the region. Key relationships • The post-holder will report to a senior member of the Fundraising team. • You will work routinely with colleagues across the charity, in particular the Fundraising, Communications and Operations teams. • You will be the key point of contact for a number of external supporters. JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: LiveLife Project Coordinator Location: Based at one of the Lingen Davies Cancer Support offices in either Shrewsbury or Telford, as agreed. Working across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and Mid Wales, with specific responsibility for the Telford component of the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Cancer Champions project, with significant travel in the area. Hours: Full time (37.5hours) or 08.FTE (30 hours) per week. Hours will usually be worked between 7.30am and 6pm to meet the needs of the organisation. Flexible working times as well as evening and weekend work will be required. Main Purpose of the Role Delivering our community health engagement work, with a primary focus on cancer awareness raising to address health inequalities (early diagnosis, cancer screening and prevention), using a range of activities and settings to effectively engage with the public and target communities. This work is focussed in two areas: • Cancer Champions Project (focus on Telford). Working in partnership colleagues, along with NHS Shropshire Telford &Wrekin, and Qube, to deliver and maintain the Telford component of the project. • LiveLife community cancer awareness programme. Our Lingen Davies community health promotion initiative, bringing cancer awareness to communities across the region. These programmes of work are overlapping and complimentary, utilising the same community approaches and networks to engage our target audiences. The post will join the current LiveLife team, working with colleagues to ensure the projects are delivered across the region. Both projects aim to: a) positively contribute to the NHS England goal of 75 % of cancer cases diagnosed at stage 1 or 2 by 2028 b) increase cancer screening uptake in communities where this is low and to raise awareness of symptoms that should prompt presentation to health care providers. The post holder will utilise existing community networks and contacts to recruit, support and develop a network of community champions, and deliver LiveLife cancer awareness sessions across the region. Collect relevant information to support the development of the project and to influence the development of local cancer services. VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT • Recruit, support and manage a diverse range of cancer champions from within communities and organisations. Support them through regular contact, training and advice. • Embed the Cancer Champions project into Lingen Davies’ LiveLife cancer awareness event programme. • Support LiveLife volunteers as and when required.
