Important: This is a 1 year contract position to cover Maternity Leave.
The role is working to enhance the heart of World Vision Child Sponsorship – connection. By working collaboratively and creatively, you will design and enable safe, meaningful, and joyful experiences that deepen the emotional bond between children and their sponsors.
Working in close partnership with Field Offices (FO), Support Offices (SO), content creators, IT specialists, and child protection leads, this role helps shape multi-format experiences, including photos, videos, voice messages, digital interactions, and games that go beyond traditional letter writing.
The role relies on cross-functional collaboration to test, adapt, and implement these experiences at scale. It brings together diverse perspectives from across the partnership to ensure that innovations are context-sensitive and aligned with both child and sponsor needs.
Ultimately, this role contributes to increasing sponsor satisfaction, boosting Net Promoter Scores (NPS), and improving sponsor retention by fostering interactions that feel personal, heartfelt, and trustworthy—while safeguarding the dignity and well-being of every child.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Stakeholder Collaboration
Collaborate and influence with Field and Support Offices, and WVI Sponsorship colleagues to pilot and implement new, safe interaction types.
Design and Execution
Design and test safe, innovative child-sponsor connection experiences based on field insights, behavioural data, and sponsor expectations.
Virtual Field Experiences (VFEs)
Support Virtual Field Visits and digital event coordination to provide immersive and safe sponsor experiences.
Best Practice Scaling
Develop and maintain best practice guidelines for safe, meaningful child-sponsor connections.
Reporting and Evaluation
Evaluate sponsor satisfaction and child feedback to continuously improve interaction formats.
Safeguarding
Coordinate safe delivery of standard sponsorship products (e.g., letters, photos, videos) per SO requirements.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in communications, human-centered design, behavioural science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years in customer experience design, digital engagement, or human connection design, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven setting.
- Human-centered design thinking and prototyping.
- Strong project coordination and cross-cultural collaboration.
- Behavioral insights, storytelling, and content design.
- Comfort with safe digital communication tools/platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal English is required; additional languages are an asset.
- Occasional international travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities
70% Amplify Engagement, Collaboration & Content Quality
Craft and share compelling internal updates and resources that build meaningful connections between the Disaster Management Team and key internal stakeholders.
Design and execute an internal content plan that supports organizational priorities and raises the profile of Disaster Management initiatives.
Maintain an internal communications calendar, mapping audiences, key messages, communication needs, and preferred channels for timely, targeted outreach.
Create, edit, and publish high-quality content across multiple formats, including newsletters, updates, presentations, and intranet posts, tailored to diverse internal audiences.
Work closely with technical subject matter experts to ensure all content is accurate and fully aligned with stated objectives.
Provide support to subject matter experts in generating content and graphic design, delivering high-quality, visually appealing, and effective experiences.
Contribute to the creation, review, and copy-editing of digital materials, including e-course resources.
Support the Global Lead in building a strong, visible presence on social media and other platforms, amplifying key messages and thought leadership.
30% Administrative & Logistical Support to the Global Lead for Disaster Management

Provide administrative and logistical support to the Global Lead for Disaster Management, ensuring smooth coordination of global priorities and engagements.

Manage the Global Lead’s calendar, appointments, and strategic interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

Draft, edit, and oversee meeting agendas, reports, presentations, and briefing materials to support leadership visibility and decision-making.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification
Education: Undergraduate level degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Organizational Development, International Development, or related field
Training: Demonstrated training or experience in administration support, project coordination, or humanitarian operations is highly desirable.
Digital Competency
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and scheduling/calendar systems.
- Strong working knowledge of productivity and design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator), Canva, or similar platforms.
- Basic experience with e-learning tools and platforms (e.g., Vyond, Articulate Rise) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle or Workday Learning.
Curiosity and adaptability toward innovations such as artificial intelligence, automation tools, and digital collaboration platforms. Ability to quickly learn and apply new digital solutions to improve efficiency, communication, and impact in a fast-paced humanitarian environment.
Required Professional Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project coordination, digital content roles, or similar positions, ideally in international or humanitarian settings..
- Proven ability to manage internal engagement initiatives and produce high-quality digital content.
- Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and diverse teams.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and professionalism in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge and/or other Qualifications
- Experience in internal communications, including drafting content, managing communication plans, and using digital platforms.
- Familiarity with disaster management, humanitarian operations, humanitarian Principles or international development is highly desirable.
Required Language(s)
- Fluency in English is required, both written and spoken, for effective communication
- Proficiency in French, Portuguese or Spanish is highly desirable, given the multicultural nature of the work and frequent engagement with field offices and partners in francophone and lusophone regions.
- Additional language skills are an asset, particularly in languages relevant to humanitarian operations.
Required travel and/or work environment accommodations
This role may require occasional travel to attend team meetings, typically 1–2 times per year. Additionally, as a member of the Disaster Management team, the individual may be called upon to deploy to high-risk areas, including in the event of Category III global disasters, for emergency response missions lasting up to three months.
Position’s physical requirements
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Capacity to participate in virtual meetings across multiple time zones.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally, including to high-risk or disaster-affected areas, as required.
- Adaptability to fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environments.

JOB PURPOSE:
This role leads the sponsor experience vision and strategy for World Vision’s Sponsor App and Portal - the primary digital touchpoints for deepening sponsor relationships. By shaping a future-facing digital journey, this role ensures sponsors are inspired, engaged, and connected to the children and communities they support.
Acting as the sponsor’s advocate, the role translates insights, content, and engagement trends into a compelling experience roadmap. It partners with Support Offices, digital enablement, and technical teams to bring sponsor experience priorities to life. Beyond features and functions, this role focuses on storytelling, emotional connection, and impact - creating digital journeys that foster loyalty and retention.
While the App and Portal are the primary focus (90%), the role also ensures they connect seamlessly with Support Office digital opportunities (10%), strengthening cohesion and creating a unified sponsor journey across touchpoints.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

- 7+ years in digital product strategy, customer/sponsor engagement, or related roles.
- Proven success shaping user/customer journeys that deliver measurable outcomes.
- Strong track record translating insights into digital experiences that drive emotional connection and retention.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional, multi-market stakeholders.
- Experience in donor/customer engagement or mission-driven contexts is a strong advantage.
