You will be working at our residential home ‘Upper Ford Lodge’ based in Droitwich Spa.
Upper Ford Lodge has provided permanent accommodation for 9 autistic adults since opening in 1998.
The service is home to 9 adults who enjoy meaningful activities and accessing the community. The service is set up in house across 3 floors. Upper ford Lodge benefits from a built-in trampoline, sensory garden, sensory room, communal kitchen to accommodate for group cooking sessions. Also, Upper Ford Lodge comprises of 2 lounge areas where residents can chose to partake in crafting activities, ‘Friday fun days’ or even an international night that takes place once a month in which different cultured are celebrated with traditional food, activities and decorations.
As a support worker, shift patterns are working a mixture of 7.00am – 2.30pm and 2.15pm – 9.45pm as well as weekends.
UK Full License Drivers only with vehicles.

The Paddocks is Autism West Midlands newest supported living service opening in August/September 2025. The Paddocks will support individuals to live independently within their own self-contained apartments.

The Paddocks will benefits from individual court yards for each self-contained flat and access to a large communal garden space. Also a sensory/activity room in which the residents can take part in activities such as games, crafting activities and even parties. The Paddocks also has a training kitchen.
As a Deputy Manager you will be supported by a Registered Care Manager.
Working days will include three office-based days and two days of direct support each week.
The Shifts are 7.00am – 2.30pm and 2.15pm – 9.45pm. All staff work a mixture of early and late shifts as well as alternate weekends.
As the Deputy Manager at The Paddocks, you will be responsible for:
- Promoting an enabling environment, ensuring high standards of professional practice, whilst achieving compliance with the standards required by CQC, internal policies and procedures and external contract requirements.
- To ensure that the support provided is led by the person and offers new experiences through a wide range of meaningful activities within their home and local community.
- To empower autistic individuals to live as independently as possible with the appropriate levels of support.
- Conduct person centred reviews at appropriate intervals, involving the person and their circles of support
- Deputise for the Registered Manager in all aspects of the service delivery including communications with parents and professionals, safeguarding and CQC, taking a lead in key responsibilities
- Rational on call duties is also required for this post

- Substantial training or a qualification relevant to a supervisory position in social care or a related field
- An understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks of registered care services and Person-centred practice
- Experience of working in relevant settings with autistic adults, learning disabilities, or mental illness

The Burrows benefits from individuals garden access from each self-contained flat, an activity room- in which the residents can take part in activities such as indoor archery, crafting activities and even parties. The Burrows also has a sensory room and a quiet room where residents can go to chillout.
A mix of early (7.00am – 2.30pm) and late (2.15pm – 9.45pm) shifts with some flexibility to start and finish later in order to accommodate the activities of the person being supported.

The Poplars and Pinetrees are residential care homes supporting 5 and 3 adults, both male and female, with autistic spectrum condition and associated disabilities. They are homely environments that allow adults to thrive in life with a well-established team of support that enable opportunities to learn and develop. Both of these homes are based in Selly Park and within walking distance of each other. You will be based from one of these homes for the majority of your working week.
Both homes are rated CQC rated Good services. The management structure consists of a Deputy Managers and the Registered Manager. The successful candidate will be line managed by an Operations Manager.

The successful candidate must have experience of managing/working in a residential environment with people with communication needs, including Autism. It is essential that you hold a level 4 qualification in a relevant field. You will have strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate and empower staff teams to deliver excellent support and work towards achieving agreed goals and outcomes. You will be someone who is experienced in managing a service in relation to budget control, reviewing and implementing processes, referrals and liaising with local authorities.
This role requires you to be an integral part of the management team working alongside key support functions such as the Operations Team, Behavioural Specialist, Finance, Marketing and HR team. Within the service, you have line management responsibility for an Assistant Manager. You will therefore be someone who is able to forge positive, professional working relationships with key stakeholders as well as take an active part in the delivery of the organisations operational plan and key objectives.

Advisors will be an important aspect of the service offering direct support for autistic adults working alongside other professionals. The team will support understanding and implementation of best practice around support for autistic adults within mental health services. We are looking for an Autism Specialist Advisor to join our Walsall Befriending Service. The service offers autistic adults with the opportunity to develop their confidence in meeting other people, developing social networks and accessing their local community. The role will involve providing direct support to autistic adults either on a 1-1 basis or within small groups. The role will require knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by autistic people and a desire to find ways in which people can build their skills and confidence. The service offers time limited support for people to progress and exit the service with an increased level of confidence around friendships and social interaction.
The role will require the ability to work on own initiative as well as within a small team. There will be an expectation for good organisational skills and the ability to make clear and accurate notes when completing admin tasks.
The post holder will need flexibility to work as part of a small team including working outside normal working hours when required, including occasional evening work. This position is working 20 hours per week
