St Francis Church, Strood is entering an exciting new season of mission and growth, and we are seeking to appoint a Youth & Young Adults Worker to build on the strong foundations already established in our ministry among young people.
Following a period of church revitalisation, this part-time role is focused on the practical delivery of youth and young adult ministry, helping young people grow in faith, build strong relationships, and engage meaningfully in the life of the church and wider community.
About the Role
This is a practical, front-line ministry role with a particular focus on:
- Youth ministry – planning and leading weekly SFS Youth, building strong relationships with young people, and helping them grow as disciples of Jesus
- Young adults – supporting the growth of The Sanctuary as a welcoming and sustainable worshipping community
- Schools and outreach – contributing to schools work, events, and mission opportunities that connect with young people across Strood, including our boxing initiative
- Community engagement – helping create spaces of trust, belonging, and connection for young people beyond the church
- You will work closely with the wider staff and leadership team, with a clear emphasis on relationship-building, consistency, and the day-to-day delivery of ministry among young people in Strood.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a committed Christian with a heart for young people
- Has experience in youth and/or young adult ministry
- Is warm, relational, and able to connect well with young people from a range of backgrounds
- Is practical, dependable, and able to take initiative in day-to-day ministry
- Is passionate about Jesus, discipleship, mission, and helping young people take meaningful steps in faith
- Is flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends, with Sundays being a required working day.
This role will be advertised with a closing date. Applications will be reviewed after this date and shortlisted candidates invited to interview. If no appointment is made, the recruitment process may then continue on a rolling basis until a suitable candidate is appointed. We therefore encourage early application.
