Visiting Professor Positions: Geography, UEA, Brazil
About the role
The Graduate Program in Geography at the State University of Amazonas (PPGEO/UEA) invites applications from professors and researchers holding a doctoral degree and currently residing and affiliated with institutions abroad for the Visiting Professor in Brazil modality under the CAPES-Global.Edu Program / SustentNET Network. The PPGEO/UEA offers two Visiting Professor positions, each for a 15-day period, within the strategic theme “Health, Nature and Society,” with activities expected to begin in Brazil between March and April 2027.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent, reside abroad, demonstrate recognized research competence in their field, and have relevant academic production, particularly over the last five years. Proposals must be connected to at least one of the Action Plans established under the theme “Health, Nature and Society,” including “Internationalization and Sustainability: 2030 Agenda” and “Interfaces between Nature and Society,” which are especially relevant to geographical research.
The fellowship includes installation allowance, travel allowance, health insurance allowance, and half of a monthly fellowship payment corresponding to the 15-day period, in accordance with CAPES regulations. Applications must be submitted by the Brazilian host professor by September 23, 2026, together with the required documentation, including the applicant’s passport copy, contact information, home institution and country, fellowship period, a curriculum summary covering the last five years, a work plan to be developed at the Brazilian institution, and the host professor’s information.
