JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title and Summary: This Veterinary Surgeon will work based in Phuket&Phangnga, performing mass spay/ neuter on free-roaming dogs and cats. The vet will be trained 3 months training in high-volume, high quality spay/ neuter. This vet will also perform ancillary soft-tissue procedures, provide emergency veterinary treatment to sick and injured dogs and cats, and communicate with the public regarding the importance of sterilisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform safe, sterile and humane sterilisations on male and female free-roaming dogs and cats.

• Follow SDF protocols and policies, working to the highest possible medical standards.

Meet daily target of minimum 20 dog or 30 cats sterilised per vet per day (after 3 months’ training period).

Observe, analyse and solve daily problems at mobile clinic.

• Communicate with community, dog feeders and owners regarding responsible pet ownership and the importance of sterilisation.

Perform ancillary soft-tissue procedures, treat sick and injured dogs and cats when there is necessity (provide emergency veterinary treatment, before transport to SDF’s hospital).

Manage emergencies and post-op complication cases as they present to the clinic.

• Perform euthanasia and terminate pregnancies when warranted.

As part of the Soi Dog team, be available to help as needed, even with tasks that are outside of the job description.

Department and Supervisor: The position will be a part of CNVR Phuket Team & will report to the Phuket CNVR Manager.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and valid license to practice veterinary medicine in Thailand.

• Passionate about animal welfare and willing to learn.

Fair English communication skills and must work well with a diverse staff.

Location: Training in Shelter, Phuket (first 2 months) and Southern Mobile Team (1 month), then will be working in Phuket & Phangnga

Type of Employment: Full time position.

Benefits:

For Mobile Team will work 20 days in each round (work on Mon-Sat and off on Sun, 8 hours per days) and after working complete 20 days will off 5 consecutive days.
