Role Overview:
The Veteran Community Hub Coordinator plays a central role in supporting the effective dayto-day operation of the Veteran Community Hub (VCH), ensuring it is consistently staffed, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of the Armed Forces Community.
The postholder has line management responsibility for Armed Forces Community Navigators, providing supervision, guidance and day-to-day support, under the direction of the STAND TO Project Manager.
The coordinator is responsible for maintaining the consistency and quality of the VCH delivery, coordinating access across drop-in, appointment, telephone and digital routes, and supporting the ongoing development of the service.
The role contributes to delivering a consistent ‘no wrong front door’ approach across the Hub in line with the VALOUR programme
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
VCH Coordination & Delivery
Ensure the VCH is consistently staffed during opening hours
• Plan and coordinate Hub activity, staffing and resource allocation to meet demand
Create a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment
• Coordinate day-to-day delivery of drop-in, appointment, telephone and digital access
• Ensure timely and effective responses to telephone and digital enquiries
Monitor footfall, engagement and activity across all access routes to inform service improvement
Capture service user feedback and experiences to inform service improvement and impact reporting
Volunteer Recruitment & Coordination
Support recruitment, onboarding and induction of volunteers
• Support the delivery of volunteer training (including safeguarding, boundaries and role clarity)
• Provide day-to-day coordination and support to volunteers
Ensure clear roles, rotas and expectations are in place
• Promote a positive volunteer culture and support
Team Support (AFC Navigators)
• Provide line management, alongside day-to-day coordination, guidance and support to AFC Navigators
Support consistency of practice, including triage, assessment and referral pathways across the team
• Monitor activity, outputs and outcomes across contacts and referrals
Support development and identify training needs
• Promote high standards of safeguarding, data quality and practice
• Act as a point of escalation for day-to-day queries and issues
Partnership Working (VALOUR / STAND TO)
Contribute information and evidence for partnership reporting and programme evaluation (e.g. VALOUR requirements)
Work closely with the STAND TO Project Manager to support VCH activity in line with VALOUR program objectives
• Contribute to integrated working across the VALOUR network
• Attend and contribute to partnership meetings and local forums
Outreach & Engagement
• Support the planning and coordination of outreach activity
• Promote a “no wrong front door” approach across access routes
• Work with DAAS and STAND TO teams to ensure consistent messaging
Governance, Systems & Quality
• Maintain accurate records of activity, outputs and outcomes
• Contribute to reporting requirements for funders, commissioners and internal use
Contribute to the development of case studies and service user feedback to evidence impact
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR and organisational policies
• Support data quality, reporting and the use of insight to inform service development
Oversee and respond to safeguarding concerns and identified risks, ensuring appropriate escalation in line with organisational procedures
Organisational Responsibilities
• Work collaboratively as part of the wider DAAS team
Comply with all organisational policies and procedures
Support the ongoing development of STAND TO services
• Participate in supervision, training and team meetings
Demonstrate flexibility to meet service needs, including occasional evening/weekend work
