OurOperations team look after our fundraising, communications, IT, finance,Impact measurement, house lets and business development. They ensure thesmooth running of the charity, securing our future financially and spreadingour message. Although not directly working with young people, there areopportunities to support out on delivery when we have larger groups staying.All staff are encouraged to spend a week immersed in the programme at thestart of their employment too.About the roleIt is an exciting and varied role at the heart of our programme delivery. You will be joining ateam that encourages and supports employee empowerment, fostering a culture whereindividuals are motivated to take initiative and contribute meaningfully.Our farmhouses and indoor spaces are purposely homely, cosy and inviting.We stray away from the institutional décor and set-up of schools and otherresidential trips. We have bedrooms instead of dormitories, large tables to sittogether for all meals, comfy sofas and toasty fires. Ensuring our spaces arelooked after and a welcoming space is made possible by our dedicated teamof housekeepers. Not only is this critical for the day-to-day running of ourprogramme, but this team is also essential for our house lets business –securing significant funds to support the charity.Our Delivery teams are made up of people with a wealth of experience from avariety of backgrounds. We have ex-teachers, carpenters, farmers,therapists and social workers...the list goes on! Every week they welcomeour visiting young people, working alongside them, modelling relationshipsand supporting them in the daily tasks whilst enabling them to seethemselves differently. Labels and preconceptions are left at the farm gates.The farm is a fresh start and our delivery teams are paramount in making theexperience a transformative one.DeliveryOperationsHousekeeping7FarmingFarming is at the heart of all we do. The purposeful nature of our farmingactivities in the beauty of these rural environments is the catalyst for thetransformation we see in the young people that visit. We pride ourselveson the stewardship of our land, in the careful nuturing of our animals, inseeing the sense of purpose and satisfaction our visitors get from hardwork, and in ensuring our farming enterprises are good for business. OurFarm Managers drive this crucial strand of our work forward.Other teams across the organisationThis roleCoordinating the therapeutic input of our teams for up to four visits a month, including:Holding personalised therapeutic conversations with up to 12 young people each week,having a flexible approach to location, task and situation according to needs ofindividual children.Communicating with visiting staff throughout each visit about the well-being of youngpeople and ways to support them after Jamie's Farm.Facilitating therapeutic group meetings and discussions.Writing a personalised report for each visiting young person.Participation in, and leading of, Jamie’s Farm group meetings.Contribution to farm life including daily walks and meal preparation.This role is full time, which entails working 45 hours per week including one evening, with very occasional weeks where an additional evening may be required. Applicants must be prepared for this significant commitment. Designated Safeguarding Lead at Jamie’s Farm Writing reports (when required) relating to safeguarding issues and following up withthe safeguarding leads in each organisation.Training staff and volunteers at your farm ensuring they follow Safeguarding Policy.Communicating effectively with the Safeguarding Leads across the organisation toensure we are as transparent and open in safeguarding issues as possible.Other major responsibilities include:Generating post-visit reports and follow up material for schools.Occasionally leading pre- and follow-up visits in partner schools across the country.Collaboratively leading meetings and training of Jamie's Farm staff around approachesto working with specific young people or groups.Main responsibilitiesExperience and skills8This role is not a therapy or counselling position and does not involve delivering clinical orformal therapeutic interventions. We are looking for someone who brings strong livedexperience and relational practice to their work with young people, using everydayinteractions and shared activity as the basis for support.
