To run the technical lights, sound and AV of the theatre and building, to a high standard,as well as managing the space in terms of health and safety and stage management.Ensure the technical department is kept organised, tidy and maintained. Assist in themanagement of the organisation of technical documents and show information.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparing the auditorium for an incoming show, based on a technical riderreceived – including: Cleaning the stage where necessary Setting out seating Preparing dressing rooms Pre rigging / focussing of lighting equipment Preparation of live audio equipment Greeting visiting companies and assisting with the get in, in a supervisory role. Monitoring and maintaining safe working practices of all involved during thepreparation of a performance Programming of lighting, sound and AV cues in collaboration with a companyrepresentative (SM, director, actor etc)  Operation of show control equipment during live performances  Assisting with the tear down and get out post show, in a supervisory role Co-operation with the FoH team to ensure a smooth delivery of shows Assisting with building evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency Selection criteria Essential criteriaKnowledge of theatrical conventions pertaining to staging, lighting and audiopractices Competency in interpreting technical riders and making suitable provisions inresponse Competency with ETC EOS family lighting consoles (ION) and knowledge ofindustry standard theatrical lighting fixtures (including moving heads) Competency with digital audio consoles and knowledge of live audioengineering techniques, including the use of radio mics.  Competency with programming and operation of Qlab5  Competency with work at height, manual handling and knowledge of key H&Slegislation around these activities Competency with the rigging of overhead equipment (primarily lighting fixtures>20kg) and knowledge of key H&S legislation around this activity Competency with marking up technical scripts for use in show operation A working knowledge of electrical safety. An ability to risk assess in real time and respond appropriately andpreventatively to potential hazards.  Desirable criteriaKnowledge of technical infrastructure systems in theatre, and an ability todiagnose and amend faults where possible.
