Working closely with the Service Leader and the Support Worker team, you will be responsible for supporting vulnerable individuals in their day to day lives. Each person we support is unique, so the support you provide will be person-centred and will focus on achieving the best lives possible for each individual.
We are currently recruiting for a Female Support Worker for 24 hours per week. This is a temporary role for a period of 6 months and may be extended or made permanent at a later date. Our team provides support 24 hours a day (days and sleepovers) so we require some flexibility to work different days of the week.
What You'll Be Doing
The individuals we support have faced a lot of challenges in the past because of their learning disabilities and mobility issues, but this hasn’t stopped them from enjoying life! The ladies enjoy lots of activities, including going out for lunch, picnics, art groups, swimming, knitting, jigsaws and going to parties. However, they’re always up for trying new things, so are looking for inventive people who are up for the challenge.
Our support team are very diverse and work well together to ensure the people we support are happy and safe in their own homes. This can include:
• Supporting with medication administration
• Cooking
• Assisting with personal care
• Maintaining the homes of people supported and helping to manage their finances
Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For this particular role, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010
