Barnardo's is looking for an experienced and motivated Team Manager to support our Community Wellbeing Team and Parenting Wellbeing Service as part of the Mindworks Alliance in Surrey.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader with experience in children's mental health, safeguarding, service delivery, and team management to help deliver high-quality support to children, young people, and families across Surrey.
About the Role
Working alongside the Children's Services Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight across both services, ensuring effective service delivery, staff support, safeguarding, and performance management.
- Hours:29.6 hours per week (4 days)
- Hybrid Role- combining home working with travel across Surrey and regular access to our Wellbeing Hub in Leatherhead.
- Contract:Fixed-term until 31 March 2028, with potential extension to 2031
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of practitioners and Senior Case Coordinators.
- Provide regular supervision and safeguarding support.
- Manage referral meetings and service allocation processes.
- Monitor service performance, quality, and reporting requirements.
- Act as Deputy Safeguarding Lead.
- Attend partnership meetings and represent Barnardo's within the Mindworks Alliance.
- Maintain a small caseload of children, young people, parents, or carers.
- Support staff development, wellbeing, and service improvement initiatives.
About You
You will have:
- Experience managing and supporting teams.
- A strong understanding of children's and young people's mental health.
- Excellent safeguarding knowledge and practice.
- Strong organisational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Experience working with multi-agency partners, including schools, health services, and social care.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness to travel across Surrey.
- Experience working with children, young people, and families.
- Experience monitoring service performance and quality.
- Knowledge of risk assessment, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures.
Desirable
- Experience within the third sector.
- Knowledge of D365, SystemOne, or Power BI.
- Recruitment and volunteer management experience.
- First Aid qualification.
Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently until 31 st March 2028 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement. This contract is due to expire on
31st March 2028values.
