Your new opportunity 

Quarriers Mearns View is a supported living service based in Newton Mearns, Glasgow. We are currently recruiting a full time Support Worker to work as a team supporting 4 individuals within their own home. The service is a home from home and provides 24 hour support to 4 men with a diagnosis of Autism and other additional support needs. Our aim is to ensure the men who live at Mearns View live a happy and healthy life filled with opportunities to fulfil their potential and aspirations. Our staff provide support with a range of activities from swimming, horse riding social events and also support with learning at college.

This is a full time (39 hours per week) post.

We may also offer weekend work on a relief basis.

Working pattern: Our service offers a 3 week rolling rota for staff, which allows for forward planning and a better work life balance. A full time post typically consists of 3 x 13 hour shifts on a rotation. Part time roles consist of 3 x 8 hour shifts or 2 x 12 hour shifts. We will consider individual requests depending if hours and pattern fits the service.

What you will need to bring to the role

  • Compassion and kindness to support people in their day to day lives.
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  • Ability to apply transferable life experience and skills to support and enable individuals.
  • Excellent problem solver who is driven by positive outcomes.
  • Resilient, reliable and an excellent listener.
  • Good IT & communication skills.
  • A full driving license for manual vehicles is required for full time roles
