Why Join Sense Scotland?

At Sense Scotland, we believe life should be about much more than meeting support needs. It's about building relationships, having fun, support health and wellbeing, achievement and creating opportunities for people supported to live fulfilling lives.

We encourage our team members to bring their own interests, skills and passions into their work, helping to create meaningful experiences for the people we support.

You don't need previous care experience – we're looking for people who are:

  • Kind and compassionate.
  • Reliable and committed.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
  • Passionate about supporting others to achieve their goals.

We'll provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you build a rewarding career in social care.

About Our Services

At our Tullideph service, we support seven adults (six men and one woman) in their own individual tenancies, while our Walton Mill service supports five adults (four men and one woman).

Every person we support is unique, with their own personality, interests, goals and outcomes. The people we support have a range of support needs, including:

  • Learning Disabilities
  • Autism and Asperger's Syndrome
  • Epilepsy
  • ADHD
  • Diabetes
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Deafblindness and Hearing Impairment

Our approach is person-centred, focusing on what matters most to each individual and helping them live the life they choose.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are the same! As a Support Worker, you'll help people to live independently, build confidence and enjoy meaningful experiences.

Your role will include:

  • Promoting independence, choice and individuality, ensuring the people we support are at the heart of every decision.
  • Providing practical support with personal care, household tasks, meal preparation and medication administration.
  • Supporting people to enjoy activities and hobbies, both at home and in their local communities, such as cinema trips, music groups, art, swimming, walking, travel and voluntary work.
  • Working closely with colleagues, families and professionals to provide the highest quality of care and support.
  • Maintaining accurate daily records and contributing to support planning.

Working Pattern

We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available.

Shifts operate across a flexible rota and include:

  • Early shifts
  • Mid shifts
  • Late shifts
  • Sleepovers
  • Night shifts

Shift times can start from 7am and finish as late as 11pm. You'll work a mixture of lone-working and 2:1 support, with each shift focused on supporting one individual. This allows you to build strong, trusting relationships and provide consistent, person centred support.

Make a Difference Every Day

If you're looking for a career where you can support people to achieve their goals, celebrate their successes and help them live the life they choose, we'd love to hear from you.
