Support Worker
About the role
Emmaus Sussex is looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to provide person-centred support to people who have experienced homelessness. Working alongside residents, you will offer practical and emotional support that empowers individuals to live, work and thrive within the Emmaus community.
Using a strengths-based approach, you will encourage and support residents to build resilience, develop independence and achieve their personal goals. The role involves helping individuals maximise their skills and potential, accessing external services and specialist support where needed. You will also work with residents to develop move-on plans, supporting those who wish to progress towards independent living when they are ready.

As part of a nationwide movement of local Emmaus charities, we equip people with valuable skills, training and work experience to achieve their goals.

About Emmaus UK
Emmaus is a unique, secular organisation supporting people affected by homelessness and social exclusion. There are currently over 30 Emmaus communities across the UK, stretching from Glasgow to Dover and Norfolk to South Wales. Collectively, the Emmaus Federation supports more than 1,000 people with experience of homelessness.
