Job Title: Student Voice Assistant

Reporting to: Student Engagement Development Coordinator

Place of Work: York University Students’ Union/ potential remote working options

Pay: £13.45 per hour

Hours of work: Total of 230 annualised hours (average of 10 hours per week) semester time only.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 29th September⋅1pm – 4pm and Wednesday 30th September⋅1pm – 4pm at the Student Union centre. 

About the Role:

The Student Voice Assistant will provide operational and administrative support to the student voice work at the Union. They will assist with the provision of directorate activities, with a particular focus on supporting academic representation, democratic engagement, and monitoring key themes that are raised by student representatives. This will involve the administration of the Academic Officer Box, assessing key themes from Academic Representatives Action and Activity Log and supporting reps to close the feedback loop, supporting the organisation of activities which foster a sense of community in department and other administrative work as and when necessary. There will also be opportunities to help with key Student Voice projects throughout the year, including events planning, campaign activity and elections.
This role has the scope for the post holder to explore areas that they are particularly passionate about in relation to Student Voice and academic representation. Student staff are a valuable part of our organisation and we look for a post holder who will be confident in bringing a student perspective to the elements of their role.
