Job Title: Student Support Teacher (1 to 1) Part-time

To Start: 3 August 2026 (or asap thereafter)

Salary/Benefits: £35,205 - £53,102 (FTE) per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

Contract term: Fixed term contract 3 August 2026 to 11 June 2027

Hours of Work: 0.6 FTE delivered over 3 days per week

Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor degree (Essential) Teaching Certificate - GTCS registered (Essential) Relevant qualifications in additional and complex needs support (Desirable)

Experience: Teaching neurodiverse students with additional needs on 1-1 basis Experience with curriculum development

Other requirements:

The right to work in the UK.

Employment is dependent on a successful PVG check.

GTCS membership is required before employment starts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The teacher (part time) jointly oversees the academic, social and emotional development, learning and wellbeing of a very pleasant and well mannered student with developmental delay in some areas, in a caring and supportive environment.

The bulk of the time will be spent directly supporting the learner with dialogue, encouragement, instruction and support. Where time is available due to the learner’s engagement in other activities, the teacher will use that time to complete planning and reflecting, and other work related to communication and administration. When more significant non-contact time is required for long term planning, this may be requested via the principal.

A Disclosure Scotland PVG Membership application will be undertaken on behalf of the successful applicant; cost to be met by the employer. Due to the short turnaround for this position, the applicant must have registration in place with GTC Scotland.
