We have an opportunity for a Solicitor - Housing Management to join our Legal Services team, based in Worcester. The Legal Services team provides legal assistance and support to the Group to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are met
The role of Solicitor - Housing Management will include:
- Manage own caseload of legal work, mainly non contentious and contentious housing management work in line with legal and regulatory requirements and in support of business objectives
- Support the development and delivery of high quality legal services in relation to all areas of housing management to Sanctuary Housing Association and its subsidiaries and operations
- Provide support to the senior team within Legal Services in overseeing the in house legal teams responsible for the Group's legal work
- Liase with the Group’s external legal providers and support the senior legal team in managing legal spend and invoice analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and Group financial procedures
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the delivery of a quality service that represents value for money, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery
Skills and experiences:
- Degree, management qualification or relevant professional qualification
- Qualified Solicitor or barrister or equivalent. Must have additional practising rights if CILEX (LSA 2007 exemption)
- Proven experience of delivering legal services
- Experience of housing litigation or relevant contentious work
- Proven experience of managing projects with strong project management skills
- Experience of commercial contracts, negotiation and data protection
- Ability to present advice, options and legal issues to non-legal audiences in both verbal and written formats
- Intermediate Microsoft 365
