SHOP MANAGER | £26,082 per annum + annual bonus scheme

Full time - 37.5 hours per week (5 days out of 7 - with some weekend working).
Location: Bath (Find Ubiety Store)

We have our own wellbeing shop that is designed to reflect the holistic care and beautiful surroundings of the hospice itself. With our themes of spa and body therapies, supporting mental health, creating serene home scenes, inspiring nutritious, healthy eating and escaping to the garden, our Ubiety Shop has a unique mix of products.
Not to mention that every sale directly helps us provide comfort, dignity, and support when it's needed most.

As a Shop Manager at Dorothy House Hospice Care, you'll lead a successful charity shop, support a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, and make a real difference in your local community.
We'll provide all the tools, training and ongoing support you need to succeed in this role. No retail or charity experience is required - just a willingness to learn, lead and make a positive impact.

WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE?

  • Ensuring there is sufficient stock, efficiently sorted, priced and prepared for sale
  • Managing stock collections and deliveries to maximise sales and shop performance
  • Training, inspiring and leading a team of both paid staff and volunteers
  • Ensuring a high standard of customer service, visual merchandising, cleanliness and presentation of stock
  • Work closely with our central Retail Support Team to coordinate events, new stock, and promotions.
  • Recruiting and supporting volunteers, maintaining a rota to ensure the shop is open as published
  • To ensure the Gift Aid scheme operates legally and effectively regarding approach to donors; preparation and sale of stock; and recording and inputting data of donor and sales information.
  • Maintaining the safety, security and organisation of both the shop and backstage areas
  • Providing management cover for other shops as required

ABOUT YOU

This role is physically demanding and involves lifting, moving stock, and being on your feet for extended periods. While full manual handling training will be provided and we commit to considering reasonable adjustments, applicants should be aware that the core duties of this role require a high level of physical activity.

Essential requirements:

  • Good standard of Maths and English
  • An excellent team worker with the passion to motivate and lead a team
  • Demonstrable prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Has a positive, energetic and customer focused approach

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience working in Retail or Charity Shop
  • Experience within a management or supervisory role
  • Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
