Volunteer Role Description
- Volunteer role/title: Retail Customer Service / Meet and Greet Volunteer

- Tasks you will be undertaking: Talking to customers about products

- Location: Victoria Plaza, Family Kitchen Shop, Shirley Sherwood Gallery
- Days per week: Role availability: 7 days a week.
To make our customers feel like “VIPs”. To assist the store team in helping, talking to and engaging with a wide range of customers and helping maintain a pleasant store environment.
Opportunities: Every day of the week: Afternoons 12noon to 6pm (During Christmas at Kew, times may be later).

Retail Customer Service/ Meet & Greet Volunteer

Main Tasks
- Greeting customers
- Assisting customers with product enquiries
- Assisting store team with tidying and cleaning the store
- Assisting the store team with store replenishment
- Assist the store team with in store tastings/sampling of products
- During Christmas providing a gift wrap service
Please note: There is no till work involved with this role.

What we expect from you
- To commit to volunteer at least one day a week other than periods of holiday etc.
- To attend required training for the role
- To be reliable and punctual
- To learn about the work of Kew
- To wear the Kew volunteer uniform if required for the role
- To demonstrate Kew’s values and follow Kew policies and procedures
This role will suit volunteers with the following skills & experience
- A ‘people person’, who likes speaking to a wide range of people
- Experience of contributing to a team
- Flexible and willing to give support where necessary
Recruitment Procedure
Volunteer recruitment at Kew happens at different times of the year as and when placement become available. Volunteer applications will be assessed individually. Wherever possible we will match the skills, experience and preferences of the volunteer with the requirements of the role. If the application is successful we will invite you in for an informal recruitment meeting where you will have the opportunity to meet the team and learn more about the role. If it is a good fit for both you and the organisation we will induct you as a volunteer and provide you with the necessary training.
