The post advertised is a full-time temporary position for 12 months.

The starting salary for this post is £28,436 per annum, based on 35 hours per week. Please note the advertised salary is the standard starting salary for the role, however consideration can be made for exceptional candidates.

Applications from a range of experienced and qualified practitioners would be welcomed.

This is a remote position, a confidential space with good internet is required.

The Children and Young Peoples (CYP) Mental Health (MH) practitioner will work as part of the YOUnited referral hub, on behalf of Ormiston Families, as well as the wider Ormiston Families team. YOUnited is a single point of access for children and young peoples, across the county, to access mental health support.

This role is part of the YOUnited partnership and will focus on providing meaningful first contacts with children, young people and/or parents and carers, as well as working flexibly to support the service. The role is remote, and therefore contacts with families & young people/children take place over the phone or via video call.

Appointments with children, young people and their families will require you to use a single session thinking approach, as well as carrying out a more clinical mental health assessment, and providing advice and guidance in line with your training and qualification.

The post holder will hold a qualification in children’s mental health and have experience of working with children, young people and parents presenting with a range of mental health difficulties. Qualifications may include Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWP), Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP’s), Counsellors, Mental Health Nurses, and other similar qualifications.
