Wokingham Philharmonic Orchestra
Wokingham Philharmonic Orchestra is a newly formed amateur orchestra in Berkshire (September 2025) looking for regular orchestra members of around Grade 7 level. We are currently looking for a regular percussionist to join us. We are a dedicated but friendly group, and have an active WhatsApp group, with social events.
We currently have over 35 members, and our first performance, seating 300 in February 2026, was sold out before the doors opened on the night, was a resounding success and was loved by the public.
We aim for 2-3 concerts per year. Our next performance is Saturday 11 July, and includes both Bizet Carmen suites and both Grieg Peer Gynt Suites, amongst a couple of other pieces.
Weekly rehearsals are held term time only on Wednesdays 7.30pm-9pm, at The Windmill School, Fernlea Drive, RG41 3DR. For more information and to contact us, visit our website at wokinghamphilharmonic.org.
If you have your own instruments and you wish to try us out, please do come along to a rehearsal, or a few. We do not have an audition process, just ask that you are approximately of the level to cope with the music we play, with a bit of practice. We hope to see you there!
