CV Life are seeking an enthusiastic individual to undertake duties as a Recreation Attendant at Moat House Leisure and Neighbourhood Centre.

The ideal candidate for this position will be hardworking, self-motivated, able to show initiative and will work well as part of a team.

Duties include assisting with activity change overs, supporting operational staff, building checks, maintain high standards of cleanliness around wet and dry side facilities, setting up equipment across the centre, and dealing with customer enquiries. The centre has a full and varied activity programme so an ability to prioritise tasks is essential.

The principal place of employment will be Moat House Leisure and Neighbourhood Centre and the successful applicants will be required to work the following shift pattern:

  • Saturday 9.30am-6.30pm.
  • Sunday 9.30am-6.30pm.

Reporting to: Duty Manager

Coventry Sports Foundation and Culture Coventry are independent organisations who work collaboratively through CV Life, so that this Job Description as a CV Life document extends to cover the employment contracts held with either Culture Coventry Trust or Coventry Sports Foundation.

  1. To assist with maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the Centre and its surrounding site at all times. Cleaning would consist of various cleaning duties which entails manual handling tasks.
  2. Ensuring that any cleaning materials and chemicals are used in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and stored in the correct manner.
  3. To continually refer to booking sheets, and assist with set ups and disassembly of sports equipment (posts, nets, goals etc)
  4. To gain experience and obtain governing body qualifications in a range of sports/activities.
  5. To provide assistance in aspects of coaching and session delivery.
  6. To assist with soft play change overs which consist of apparatus and facility cleaning and set ups and disassembling of soft play equipment.
  7. To contribute to the professional development and guidance of Further Education and Work Placement students.
  8. To become familiar with the various procedures of reception duties, including all administrative aspects of record keeping and filing.
  9. To assist with the re-stocking of vending machines as required.
  10. To visit venues outside the Centre as required to promote the activities of the Company.
  11. To patrol the building regularly and report any problems/breakages to the Duty Manager.
  12. To attend any relevant meetings and forums as required.

  • To attend and fully engage with all internal training and development requirements and opportunities, and maintain such qualifications as required by the demands of the role.
  • To interact positively with customers adopting a friendly and professional approach at all times.
  • To comply with the General Data Protection Regulations when dealing with, maintaining, sharing and storing information.
  • To undertake other duties as specified, which are appropriate to the qualifications, experience and general level of the post.

Special Circumstances

  • Ability to work unsociable hours including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
  • Ability to travel between sites.
  • Interest in working with underrepresented and disadvantaged community groups/individuals.
