We are opening a new service in the Croydon area in December 2026 and have multiple part-time roles available. As part of our recruitment process suitable applicants will be invited to an open assessment day, currently scheduled for the 8th October.
We are Hestia. We make a difference.
At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Recovery Worker to play a pivotal role in our new Mental Health Crisis Prevention and Outreach Service in Croydon.
Sounds great, what will I be doing?
As a Recovery Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred, and recovery-focused support to individuals experiencing mental distress, helping them improve their wellbeing, build resilience, and prevent the escalation of mental health difficulties. You will manage a caseload of service users, delivering assessments, risk management, safety planning, and short-term interventions tailored to individual needs. Working closely with health, social care, housing, and community partners, you will support people to access appropriate services and achieve their recovery goals. You will facilitate recovery-focused activities, maintain accurate and confidential records, participate in multidisciplinary working, and contribute to the effective delivery and continuous development of the service.
What do I need to bring with me?
You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.
In this role, you will need experience supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges, emotional distress, or crisis, alongside a strong understanding of recovery-focused, strengths-based, person-centred, and trauma-informed approaches. You will be able to build positive and trusting relationships, deliver effective emotional and practical support, and respond appropriately to risk, safeguarding concerns, and crisis situations. Strong communication, teamwork, and partnership-working skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate with health professionals, community organisations, and other stakeholders. You should possess good IT and record-keeping skills, experience managing a caseload, and the flexibility to work across community and clinical settings, including evenings and weekends.
