Are you a friendly, professional, and organised individual who enjoys working with people? Do you have experience in reception, administration, customer service, or a similar office-based role?
The Diocese of Rochester is seeking a Receptionist to provide administrative support to the Church and its mission in the Diocese of Rochester. Working closely with Diocesan staff in the office, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and incoming telephone calls, helping to create a welcoming environment while ensuring the smooth running of the office.
About the Role
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring a warm, professional welcome to visitors and supporting the administrative operations of the office. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming visitors and providing a friendly and professional reception service
- Managing incoming telephone calls, messages, and enquiries
- Handling incoming and outgoing post and correspondence
- Coordinating meeting room bookings and assisting with meeting preparation
- Maintaining office supplies and placing orders for stationary, refreshments, and other essential items
- Liaising with external suppliers and contractors, including cleaning and waste management providers
- Supporting health and safety procedures, including maintaining visitor records and carrying out routine checks
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Previous secretarial or receptionist experience
- A professional and friendly manner, both face to face and on the telephone
- A strong attention to detail that can prioritise and manage tasks concurrently
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Working experience of Microsoft Office
- A proactive and collaborative approach to work
