The Photographers’ Gallery
The Photographers’ Gallery explores how photography is connecting, captivating, and radically changing our world today. The Gallery’s programme and spaces – from exhibitions, talks, workshops and digital platforms to the café, shop and galleries – all explore the beauty, complexity and future of photography.
On the borders of busy Oxford Street and vibrant Soho, the Gallery is home to photography experts, novices and the photo‑curious; artists and students; tourists and passers‑by. The Gallery welcomes over 250,000 visitors annually and is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation (NPO).
· Expose a fuller picture – by revealing narratives that go beyond the frame.
· Develop future creators – by nurturing artists and new audiences and actively seeking under‑represented voices in who we work with and welcome in our spaces.
· Be one social space – a place for sharing and collaboration, joining up everything we do both virtually and in Soho
The Print Sales Gallery offers a curated range of photographic prints by established and emerging artists. It welcomes a broad audience, from experienced collectors to first‑time buyers, and plays an important role in shaping how people engage with collecting photography.
The Print Sales Gallery is part of The Photographers’ Gallery Enterprises, which also includes the Bookshop, Café and private event hires. All profits from our Enterprises directly support the Gallery’s charitable aims
The Print Sales team includes the Director, Print Sales Gallery; sales team members; and administrative support roles.
The Print Sales Administrator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the Print Sales Gallery. This role combines administration, stock management and logistical coordination, supporting sales activity, exhibitions and art fairs.
You will help ensure artworks are accurately tracked, well cared for and efficiently managed, while contributing to a professional and welcoming experience for artists, collectors and visitors as part of a wider commercial and visitor-facing team.
In this role, you will develop strong organisational, administrative and logistical skills within a specialist arts sales environment. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in stock management, art handling processes and sales administration, while learning how commercial gallery activity supports a wider cultural organisation.
You’ll also build transferable skills in communication, database management, financial administration and teamwork, and gain insight into working with artists, collectors and colleagues across the Gallery
1. Support the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the Print Sales Gallery through effective administration and coordination.
2. Maintain accurate records of stock, consignments and artwork movements.
3. Contribute to the delivery of exhibitions, sales activity and art fairs through logistical and administrative support.
· Manage and update stock records, including logging consignments and maintaining accuracy within the Artlogic database.
· Ensure all artworks are stored, handled and documented to a high standard.
· Support exhibition preparation, including collating price lists, coordinating framing and preparing artwork information.
· Assist with the organisation and administration of art fairs, off‑site projects and loans.
· Process invoices, support artist self‑billing and liaise with the Finance team to ensure timely payments.
· Order and manage Print Sales Gallery supplies and materials.
· Provide administrative support for sales processes and general team coordination.
· Respond to enquiries and liaise clearly with artists, clients and visitors.
· Support events, openings and wider Print Sales activity as required.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Gallery to ensure a joined‑up approach.
Additionally, there is an expectation that staff will support the wider, internal workings of the Gallery where possible, including contributing to staff meetings, training sessions and voluntary working groups such as the Staff Forum and Environmental Working Group.
We’re looking for someone organised, proactive and detail focused, with a collaborative and approachable manner. You’ll be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working with systems and data, and supporting a small team in a busy environment.
You’ll communicate clearly, work well both autonomously and as part of a team, and take pride in delivering accurate, reliable and professional work.
· Experience in an administrative, registrar or logistics role, ideally within a gallery or cultural organisation.
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Confidence using databases and administrative systems (e.g. Artlogic) and Microsoft Office.
· Understanding of artwork handling and storage processes.
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
· Some experience with financial administration or invoicing is desirable.
· Interest in photography and visual culture.
· Willingness to work flexibly, including one weekend day each week
The requirements listed here are guidelines, and you don’t have to satisfy every requirement. We welcome candidates who bring transferable skills and experience.
