The Bishop of Rochester seeks to appoint a Pioneering Priest (full-time ordained) St Gabriel's Kings Hill - Bishop's Mission Order
Ready to grow a church at the heart of a new development?
Kings Hill is a popular and growing residential development on a former airfield in West Kent with good road and rail links to London and beyond. For over twenty years St Gabriel's has been a constant Christian presence here, growing a congregation from scratch alongside a valued food bank and building strong links with schools and community groups.
We are seeking an experienced priest to lead us into the next stage of mission and growth - supporting worship in schools, halls and community spaces; providing deeper pastoral care for our members; developing creative mission initiatives; building discipleship; and moving the BMO towards a PCC model.
You will not do this alone. Through the Strategic Mission and Ministry Investment Board, an additional Lay Community Pioneer will be appointed with your input to lead community outreach and give extra capacity for outreach.
We’re praying for someone who is:
- A visionary leader with a passion for pioneering mission
- Spirit-filled, prayerful and rooted in Scripture
- Relational, approachable, and able to connect with everyone
- Creative, adaptable and resilient in a fast-changing community
- Committed to collaborative ministry and to empowering others
In return, you’ll find:
- A committed congregation
- Capable lay leadership
- Administrative support
- A modern four-bedroom Vicarage.
