1. JOB DETAILS

Job Title: NHS Supported Internship Job Coach
Location: Queen Mary’s Sidcup
Team/Directorate: Employment and Education
Salary: £16,730.43 per annum (term time)
Responsible To: Senior Job Coach Agency Co-ordinator
Responsible For: Interns on the NHS Supported Internship Programmes

2. JOB PURPOSE

Support and coach young adults that have a learning disability/autism, to take part and complete a supported internship within the NHS and secure paid employment at the end of the programme. To play a key role in facilitating each young person’s achievement.

3. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver support to our interns within the NHS Supported Internship Programme.

• Coach our clients on a one-to-one basis, providing Systematic Instruction and helping them to understand tasks and objectives.

• Monitor intern progress and provide regular feedback to the Lecturer and the Senior JCA Co-ordinator.

• Maintain a daily, accurate record on Bromley Mencap’s CRM system, of all support provided to the interns.

• Work with the Lecturer to help develop rotation, write task lists and job analysis.

• Support the Lecturer with intern/parent review meetings.

• Participate in training courses and team meetings as required.

• Support individuals in looking after their own physical and mental wellbeing.

4. KEY RELATIONSHIPS – INTERNAL/EXTERNAL

• Senior Job Coach Agency Co-ordinator and the Supported Internships Manager

• Lecturer – SEND Employment/NHS Supported Internship Course Leader

• Managers/supervisors/mentors within the hospital departments

5. HEALTH & SAFETY/GDPR

• Comply with safe working practices as outlined in Bromley Mencap policies and take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by acts or omissions at work.

• Report any accidents, incidents or near misses as soon as reasonably practicable.

• Comply with GDPR guidance as outlined in Bromley Mencap policy and report any breaches as soon as reasonably practicable.

6. GENERAL

• Be aware of and adhere to Bromley Mencap policies at all times.

• Take part in progress/performance reviews throughout the year.

• Cooperate with other departments to achieve good outcomes for our members.

• Attend training courses and complete online training modules as required to meet the requirements of the post.

• Take responsibility for own personal development, seeking out opportunities to learn new skills.

• Undertake any other duties as requested by management which are reasonably deemed to be within the scope of the role or necessary for the smooth running of the organisation.

7. OTHER
