The Queen’s School is Cheshire’s leading independent school for girls aged 3 to 18. Due to the continued expansion of our Home to School Transport provision, we are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Minibus Drivers to join our welcoming and supportive transport team from September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in daily school life by safely transporting our pupils to and from school along planned routes at the start and end of each day. As a visible representative of the school, you will act as an ambassador, demonstrating professionalism at all times while promoting our values and ethos.

Reporting to the Estates Manager, you will work collaboratively with a team of drivers responsible for our minibus fleet. Your duties will include completing routine daily vehicle checks and ensuring each minibus is presented to a high standard, reflecting the school’s professional and welcoming environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for transporting pupils to and from school and taking reasonable measures to safeguard passengers at all times. You will also conduct the necessary checks and inspections to ensure vehicles are roadworthy prior to travel. The following roles are available from September 2026:

  • 2 × 25 hours per week (split shift: morning and afternoon)
  • 1 × 15 hours per week (afternoon only)

All roles are part time, term time only. Additional hours may be available for school trips, PE fixtures and extra curricular activities

Essential Requirements

  • A full, clean and valid UK driving licence with D1 entitlement
  • Proven experience of driving a minibus, HGV or PSV
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Willingness to be flexible in working arrangements and work at short notice if the need arises
  • Initiative to plan their own work schedule
  • Capability to maintain accurate vehicle and user records
  • Competent to undertake daily and weekly vehicle checks and carry out basic maintenance
  • Commitment to the safeguarding of children and young people

Salary

The FTE salary is £24,785 per annum, therefore actual salary for 25 hours per week is £13,218 per annum and for 15 hours £7,983 per annum.
