We are Hestia. We make a difference.

At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for an MHCA Recovery Worker to play a pivotal role in our Mental Health service in Harrow.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

As the Recovery Worker, you will manage a caseload of individuals requiring early intervention and preventative mental health support, helping them build resilience, improve wellbeing, and achieve their personal goals. You will deliver structured group activities and programmes, promote peer support opportunities, and empower service users to actively participate in planning and co-producing their support. Working collaboratively with community mental health teams, social workers, housing providers, healthcare professionals, and employment services, you will encourage engagement with wider support networks. You will monitor wellbeing and safety, maintain accurate records, complete assessments and reviews, support colleagues, and contribute to the effective, responsive delivery of the service.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

In this role, you will need proven experience supporting individuals with mental health needs and dual diagnoses, together with a strong understanding of recovery-focused practice, relevant mental health legislation, and safeguarding responsibilities. You will be able to communicate effectively and provide person-centred support with dignity and respect, while working collaboratively with statutory, voluntary, and community sector partners. Strong case management, risk assessment, and organisational skills are essential, alongside the ability to prioritise workloads and perform effectively under pressure. You should be confident delivering groups, initiatives, and presentations, supporting colleagues and volunteers, and using IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and online resources, to maintain accurate records and communication.
