About the role

To make it easier for people to find the support they want and need, we provide two support sessions each week which offer a safe space for people to relax and take time to explore their needs with our support. We make sure everyone is safe and feels heard so that we can offer signposting and referrals to teams and organisations that can offer support.

As a Mental Health Support Session Volunteer, your role is to listen to the people who attend and develop kind and supportive relationships which enable you to collaborate and identify appropriate support together. You will help staff to deliver activities and guide people to access help by actively listening to their needs.

You will:

  • Welcome people into the sessions - offering reassurance and support.
  • Provide emotional and practical support, explaining the services we offer, sharing signposts and making referrals.
  • Help to co-design and co-deliver engaging activities to support mental health.
  • Help us to improve the service that we provide.
  • Attend training when required.

All application documents can be downloaded from the box on the right.

This recruitment will remain open until we have filled our current vacancies.

Please note that the application, interview, reference request, DBS process and training can take 2-3 months. We expect successful applicants to be starting in role from December 2026.
