Our workplace is one where different experiences, expertise and perspectives are valued, and where everyone is encouraged to grow and develop.
We particularly want to hear from people with lived experience of the rich and diverse communities. Like many organisations in our sector, our staff team is under-represented by people from minoritised backgrounds. We are actively addressing this as an organisation with strong policies and actions around diversity, equity and inclusion. and we strongly encourage applications from people from minoritised backgrounds. You will be working for an organisation which really values it staff and have plenty of opportunities to develop within the role.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Membership Officer to join our team. Although much of the work supporting our 2000+ members is carried out remotely, the post holder will need a willingness to travel to occasional in-person events, visits and meetings.
You’ll bring your experience of working in a busy membership environment to a friendly team providing a variety of support to community organisations and others who have joined our thriving peer network. You’ll also work to grow the network and our reach. To do this, as well as planning and delivering a varied programme of events, networking, and engagement opportunities, you will also collaborate with the Marketing team to develop targeted, meaningful content that strengthens relationships, encourages participation and helps grow membership
There will be lots of member interaction, so we’re looking for someone with a warm, friendly outlook and an understanding of issues affecting community organisations. We’re also keen for you to help develop and deliver smooth membership processes that respond to member need, so an eye for detail is key.
This is a full-time role with flexible working hours.
