About the role

St Hilda's College

St Hilda’s College seeks to appoint a full-time Library Assistant. The Library Assistant acts as the first point of contact for students using the College library, at the issue desk, by email and on social media. They support the Librarian and Deputy Librarian in all activities associated with a busy academic library and are especially involved in the acquisition of books.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will require strong written and verbal communication skills, experience in a customer-facing role and the ability to work flexibly as part of a small team.

The salary for this role is £28,437 rising to £32,108 per annum (University Grade 4), depending on skills and experience.

The post is full-time (35 hours a week) and will be based on-site, in the College.

There is a paid holiday entitlement of 33 days per year, including public holidays. Lunch is provided free of charge when on duty.
