Role: In Person Clinical Supervisor Location: Hove Hours: 4.5 hrs a week (Tuesday pm, Thursdays pm and 1 monthly online meeting on Wednesday am) Salary: £55,690 FTE - Agenda for Change band 8a (actual £6,682.80pa) Leave Entitlement: 240 FTE hours per year (actual 29 hours pa) Pension: Employer contribution 3% Job closes: Midday April 6th 2026 Interviews: Monday 13th April PM/20th April AM ● Since 2000 Mankind UK (www.mkcharity.org) has offered male centred therapeutic services to people 18+ in Sussex who have experienced sexual assault or abuse. We support cis and trans men, and non-binary or intersex people who prefer a male centred approach and offer: ● online self help resources via www.1in6.uk ● 24 weeks of 121 counselling ● 10 week Psycho-educational Group Course ● 20 weeks Group Therapy. We do not specify any particular modality but expect supervisors to have been trained to incorporate the fundamentals of the 7 eyed model (Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet) and The IDM (Stoltenberg and McNeill). This is a multidisciplinary role requiring skills and experience in 1-1 and group work supervision, counselling, outcome monitoring and general admin. Main Duties ● Deliver one in person supervision group per week on Thursdays afternoon. Each group runs for 2 hours and includes up to three counsellors. ● Deliver one in person supervision group per fortnight on Tuesday afternoon. Each group runs for 1 hour and includes up to 2 group therapy facilitators. ● Attend a monthly online case management meeting Wednesday 09:00-10:00 ● Undertake fitness to practice assessments ● Support counsellors in identifying and acting on any risk or safeguarding matters ● Support counsellors in their use of outcome assessment with clients as part of the working relationship ● Work with counsellors to use their weekly outcome assessment data held on CORENet for therapeutic purposes and continuous clinical development ● Maintain digital notes of supervision sessions ● Pursue continuous professional development (some internal training is provided) ● Comply with the policies, procedures and service standards of the organisation ● Use G Suite, Trello, Miro, COREnet, BrightHR, Zoom and other digital systems as needed ● To take part in annual appraisals ● Undertake other reasonable duties which uphold and maintain standards of service delivery ● To monitor the effectiveness of the client/counsellor relationships and ethical standards to improve standards of practice all within the policies and procedures of Mankind UK ● To attend relevant CPD training to maintain safeguarding and provide competent support of our counsellors. Person Specification (E = Essential, D = Desirable) 1. Accredited counsellor with the UKCP, BACP, NCPS having graduated from a a BACP recognised training with 5 years post qualifying experience (E) 2. Post-graduate training in Clinical Supervision or equivalent that integrates relational and systemic aspects of supervision with 3 years post qualifying experience (E) 3. Knowledge and application of 7 eyed model (Hawkins and Shohet) and The IDM (Stoltenberg and McNeill) models of supervision (E) 4. Post training experience of delivering trauma therapy and supervision within the sexual violence sector and using the 3 stage trauma model (Herman, 1992) (E) 5. Training and experience of providing supervision for therapeutic groupwork (E) 6. Highly developed supervision skills: self-reflective and capable of non-defensive challenge of self and colleagues, with a particular focus on EDI. 7. Knowledge of issues specific to male survivors (E) 8. Post training experience of working with sexual trauma presentations and understanding of the effects of trauma on both clients and practitioners (E) 9. Knowledge and understanding of pre-trial therapy (D) 10. Excellent communication skills and proficient in the use of IT. (E) 11. Ability to organise own time and workload effectively. Good communication skills both verbal and written (E) 12. Be in ongoing practice as a counsellor/psychotherapist supervised at a minimum of 1.5 hours per month and have in place arrangements for consultative support for supervision (E) 13. Experience of adhering to GDPR guidelines (E) 14. Experience of using G Suite, databases and client management applications (E) 15. Experience of learning to use new digital technologies (E) 16. Experience of monitoring and evaluation.
