Health and Wellbeing Assistant
Job title: Health and Wellbeing Assistant
Salary: £26,051 pro rata
Location: Falkirk and Grangemouth (Seaforth / Kingseat)
Hours: Fulltime / Part-time
Contract: Permanent
We are a values‑led social care organisation focused on delivering support that genuinely improves people’s lives. As a not‑for‑profit provider, with over 40 years’ experience in the social care arena we reinvest our resources where they matter most: the people and communities we serve. Our work is grounded in dignity, respect, and the belief that everyone deserves the chance to live well.
About the role
Kingseat and Seaforth services provide supported accommodation for people affected by homelessness. We work with a diverse customer group, including young single people aged 16+, couples, and families with children. Our approach is trauma‑informed, person‑centred, and strengths‑based, ensuring that individuals feel safe, respected, and supported to move forward positively.
Who are we looking for?
Health and Wellbeing Assistants play a key role in supporting customers to stabilise their housing situation and access the services they need. This includes providing practical and emotional support, helping customers to claim appropriate benefits, register with local housing providers, and access wider community resources. Where specialist input is required, staff work closely with partner agencies to ensure coordinated and effective support.
Staff also support customers to register with local Primary Health Care services and facilitate access to in‑house support delivered by partner organisations.
All staff receive comprehensive training to ensure they are equipped to meet the needs of our customers. This includes a full induction programme delivered by Wheatley Care, alongside a local service induction and supported shadowing within Kingseat and Seaforth services. Ongoing training and development opportunities are provided to support staff in their role and professional development.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar support environment and a sound understanding of the Health and Social Care Standards. They will work in a trauma‑informed, objective and non‑discriminatory way, recognising the impact of trauma and supporting individuals with empathy, dignity and respect. The postholder will demonstrate a strong commitment to working positively with a diverse range of people, supporting individuals to live safe, fulfilling and independent lives.
