About the role

Head of Campaigns (Landscapes and Land Use)

Closing date: 16 September 2026
Location: London, hybrid (2 days a week in the office)
Salary: £61,000

We’re recruiting a Head of Campaigns – Landscapes and Land Use, a newly created role that will strengthen our campaigning and help shape national and regional debates about how England uses its finite supply of land.

You’ll lead ambitious national campaigns and policy communications that help people understand why decisions about land use need to be better connected, and how they shape the future of the countryside we all depend on. You’ll work alongside our new Head of Campaigns – Planning and Infrastructure to deliver a more joined-up approach to land.

This isn’t a traditional policy job. We’re looking for someone who knows that meaningful change happens when strong evidence meets compelling public engagement, powerful partnerships and effective influencing – someone who can bring people, ideas and organisations together around a shared vision for our landscapes.

You’ll bring significant experience of leading campaigns, advocacy or influencing work, senior-level relationships with decision-makers, and a strong grasp of policy around landscapes, land use, climate, nature, agriculture or the environment. You’ll act as a senior spokesperson for CPRE and lead and develop a team.
