Make a Difference!

As Smile Train’s HCM, Intern, you will assist the Human Resources team by supporting Human Capital Management (HCM) systems and enhancing organizational processes through system integrations. This internship provides valuable, real-world experience in HR technology, cross-functional collaboration, and process improvement, while offering mentorship and opportunities to develop both technical and professional skills.

The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting a growing global team and develop insights into how talent management, organizational development, and equitable HR practices empower Smile Train’s programmatic teams and partners to deliver sustainable cleft care and meaningful community impact.

This role also provides the opportunity to build knowledge of inclusive, ethical, and effective people practices within a global nonprofit environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Human Resources team in maintaining and optimizing Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, including data entry, audits, and reporting
  • Assist with system integrations and process improvements to enhance HR operations and efficiency
  • Coordinate HR-related activities, including scheduling meetings, tracking projects, and supporting cross-functional collaboration
  • Provide recruitment support by assisting with job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and candidate communications
  • Help onboard new hires by preparing materials, coordinating onboarding sessions, and ensuring a smooth new employee experience
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives by supporting events, surveys, and programs that promote a positive workplace culture
  • Assist in developing creative content and initiatives that strengthen company culture and internal communications
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity within HR systems
  • Support ad hoc HR projects and administrative tasks as needed
