As a Global Opportunities Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting Cardiff Met’s vision to be a progressive, globally connected university. You’ll help deliver an inspiring range of international mobility opportunities and ensure our students – including those who may not typically consider studying abroad – feel empowered, supported and excited to take part.
You’ll coordinate and enhance the day‑to‑day administration and service delivery of our Global Opportunities team, ensuring a welcoming, efficient and responsive experience for outgoing students. You’ll lead the way by:
- Coordinating the outward mobility service, supporting team members, refining processes and ensuring an excellent student experience.
- Acting as first point of contact for prospective exchange and study abroad students, offering clear, culturally aware guidance on opportunities and requirements.
- Providing guidance and essential documentation support for outgoing students, ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date information.
- Contributing to new ideas and solutions to widen participation, enabling students from all backgrounds to benefit from global engagement opportunities.
What you’ll bring
With strong organisational skills and a passion for supporting students to access global opportunities, you’ll bring clarity, creativity and cultural awareness to a fast‑paced and varied role. You’ll be confident communicating with a diverse range of audiences, able to explain complex processes simply, and experienced in developing positive working relationships across teams and institutions.
You’ll also bring:
- Detailed understanding of national mobility funding schemes such as Turing, Taith or Erasmus+.
- Strong digital capability, with experience using a wide range of IT systems and social media platforms.
- Knowledge of the UK higher education environment and experience working in a UK education setting.
- The ability to prioritise, plan and improve administrative operations, using initiative to refine processes and respond to evolving student needs.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills, with the ability to support students from a range of cultural backgrounds.
