GIS Officer – Arable Coast Environment (ACE) EIP Job Opportunity with SECAD Partnership, Midleton, co. Cork

SECAD wishes to recruit for the role of GIS Officer (Job No. DO2604) as part of the Arable Coast Environment (ACE) European Innovation Partnership (EIP), which is a new four-year project managed by SECAD Partnership, tasked with reversing the decline of habitat for wintering Hen Harriers and priority farmland birds on arable (tillage) farmland along Ireland’s South Coast, working with project farmers and other landowners to achieve these goals. Our project aims to support tillage farmers to build capacity, create habitat, and improve the quality of ecological outcomes achieved on their lands.

GIS officer will play a central role in delivering the spatial data management, mapping, and analytical needs of the Arable Coast Environment (ACE) EIP. This position supports the ecological survey programme, farm
engagement activities, and wider project decision-making by developing mobile GIS surveys (e.g. Field Maps, Survey123 Connect), managing existing and new spatial datasets, producing high-quality maps, outputs, and written reports, as well as undertaking geospatial analysis to support project aims.

The successful candidate will ensure that the ACE team has timely, accurate, and accessible spatial information to support ecological assessments, landscape-scale interventions, and farmer advisory work.

Training and development opportunities will be provided to support project delivery
