Job description

Job Title: Swimming Coordinator Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Swimming Coordinator. As the Swimming Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our swimming programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality swimming instruction, and creating a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aquatic programming, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for promoting water safety and fitness. Working Schedule: • The position entails working four weekdays and one weekend day. Salary: • Competitive salary ranging from £26,000 to £32,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Responsibilities: 1. Program Development and Management: • Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive swimming program catering to various age groups and skill levels. • Develop curriculum, lesson plans, and training materials to ensure effective and engaging swimming instruction. • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and safety standards to continuously enhance the swimming program. 2. Staff Supervision and Training: • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of qualified swimming instructors and lifeguards. • Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of competency among the swimming staff. • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment among the aquatic staff. 3. Safety and Compliance: • Implement and enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, and risk management strategies to ensure the well-being of participants and staff. • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, certifications, and regulations. 4. Customer Service: • Interact with participants and their families to address inquiries, provide information, and resolve concerns in a professional and courteous manner. • Develop and maintain positive relationships with program participants, parents, and community members. 5. Facility Management: • Collaborate with facility management to ensure that swimming facilities are well-maintained, clean, and safe for use. • Coordinate scheduling of swimming classes, open swim sessions, and special events. Teaching Hours: • The position involves an average of 10 hours per week dedicated to teaching swimming classes. Qualifications: • ASA/Swim England/STA Level 2 or equivalent qualifications and knowledge of learn-to-swim teaching pathways. • Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor certifications required. • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities. • Excellent interpersonal skills. • Able to make decisions and solve problems. • Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the swimming lessons program. • Understanding of relevant health and safety and employment legislation. • Experience advantageous but not necessary. • UK Full driving license. • Microsoft Office - working knowledge. • CPR and First Aid certifications. Note: A Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field is not required; however, candidates with relevant degrees are still encouraged to apply.

Qualifications required

ASA/Swim England/STA Level 2 or equivalent qualifications and knowledge of learn-to-swim teaching pathways. • Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor certifications required but can be gained was in position.
