Nature of the Job Role:
To carry out a variety of tasks which will assist the employer with her care and support requirements, to enable her to pursue her personal and social life according to her wishes and interests.
You may sometimes be asked to accompany my client on outings/overnight stays.
About the employer:
My client is an outgoing, disabled independent 30-something, living in the Rubery area, she lives in a two-bedroom bungalow with her assistance dog, who you may be required to support in conjunction with her. My client is seeking to employ personal care assistants to join her small team to support her with her independent living lifestyle.
Main duties:
Personal care, Support with all aspects of Personal Care on a daily basis.
Additional duties include:
Social support to enable my client to:
- keep in touch and socialise with family and friends
- attend medical appointments if required
- attend social events and assist with accessing the community
Domestic duties:
Provide support with grocery shopping, cooking, and providing nutritious meals and snacks, cleaning, changing linen, laundry.
These duties may vary from day-to-day.
Type of person that my client is looking for:
A minimum of 20 hours per week (minimum), flexible and Reliable with their own transport is essential, unless in easy commute of her property. A Full Driving Licence is required, allowing them to drive a manual vehicle. Previous care experience would be an advantage, personality and a willingness to learn is key to this role. (Moving & Handling training will be provided). The candidate should be fun and outgoing with a can-do attitude, have a kind and caring disposition and be patient. You will be required to always respect my client’s privacy and confidentiality. You should always endeavour to promote my client’s independence.
Hours of work:
A combination of hours between 8am - 11pm daily, (up to 9 hours per day may be available which would include some weekends) + Holiday & Sickness Cover.
Rate of pay:
Currently £13.01 per hour
Essential requirements
- Full driving licence – Enabling you to drive a Manual Vehicle
- own transport
- confidentiality
- good at building relationships

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
