JOB DESCRIPTION POST TITLE: Director of Police & Justice Partnerships LOCATION: Home based HOURS OF DUTY: 37.5 hours per week SALARY: £49,629 per annum MAIN CONTACTS: Police Officers and other Law Enforcement Professionals CEO and Senior Leadership Team Moving On Project Staff and partners Operational Staff Service Users External agencies and statutory bodies including other Non- Governmental Organisations RESPONSIBLE TO Executive Director: Operations RESPONSIBLE FOR: SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SERVICE: An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be undertaken Able and willing to work flexibly and at other Medaille locations Maintain confidentiality in respect of the service location and identity of clients and staff at all times MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST: To develop and maintain effective relationships with law enforcement agencies and Service Managers in order to maximise the information, intelligence and evidence from Medaille Trust clients. To organise an annual conference for MSHT law enforcement professionals. To oversee and manage First Responding on behalf of Medaille Trust. To manage the Victims’ Voices project and mentor all ABE-trained staff. To liaise directly with ABE trained staff in the safe houses and MOP to ensure the process is carried out effectively. To be the designated Safeguarding Lead for Medaille Trust. To advise the Operations Team regarding incidents, threats or potential criminal activity. To visit safe houses giving guidance and advice on any service user issues in relation to police activity. To act as the Counter-terrorism lead for Medaille Trust. To maintain and deliver presentations and training on behalf of Medaille Trust. To oversee and manage support on police operations. To represent Medaille Trust at Modern Slavery Partnership meetings. To produce information and intelligence reporting for law enforcement and other statutory agencies. To work with the Fundraising team to support funding applications and community engagement. To work with the Executive Director: Engagement & Strategic Development (Deputy CEO) to support external communications and liaison with Government. Health and Safety To carry out Health & Safety inspections and maintain accurate records as required. To maintain a safe and secure working environment. To participate in the identification and assessment of risks and implement agreed working procedures to minimise their impact, writing risk assessments as required. To ensure that all incidents, accidents or potential hazards are reported and recorded following the Health & Safety Policy. To ensure safety & security procedures and standards are followed to keep self and others safe. To review Medaille Trust Operations Manual quarterly and make relevant updates in line with internal and external policies. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS The Director of Police and Justice Partnerships will have previous experience in working as a modern slavery specialist, or similar, within a Police Service. They will need to demonstrate a clear and working knowledge of partners activity and effective contacts regarding modern slavery within Law Enforcement and other statutory organisations. , The post holder should demonstrate empathy and a non-judgmental attitude towards service users. This will include respect for cultural and religious heritage of all persons. ADDITIONAL DUTIES Flexibility from the post holder is essential as on occasion you may need to work unsociable hours. Occasionally, you will be required to work at any premises in which Medaille Trust carries out its business, now or in the future. SAFEGUARDING Everyone at Medaille Trust has a safeguarding responsibility. As part of the role the post holder will undertake mandatory safeguarding and Prevent training as part of their induction. The post holder will be required to ensure that vulnerable adults and children are safeguarded. The role includes a duty to refer any safeguarding concerns they may have to their line manager. CONFIDENTIALITY It is expected that all employees will understand that our work is confidential and that confidential information must not be divulged. This obligation will continue indefinitely even after termination of employment. TRAINING Medaille Trust is committed to offering training and support to all employees. The post holder will be required to attend mandatory training, other training where appropriate, participate in supervision, annual appraisals and development reviews. To keep up to date with skills and knowledge, including reading to understand all relevant communication e.g. staff handbook, etc and attend meetings as required.
